And before anybody starts bitching and moaning, I blew up "army men" for over a decade before joining up. Any red-blooded heterosexual male should find no problem with that opening graphic.

Not so much with "Jarhead" (or "Heartbreak Ridge", for that matter).

Heartbreak Ridge DID have its good moments, though the unit it was based on wasn't a Marine Corps unit. It did make a lot of mistakes, but watching Clint kick ass in a jail was worth it. Jarhead was a pitiful abortion of a movie that tried to be serious but was based on a book by a damn loser.

That is accurate. They did make a slipup in referencing the Ranger unit the movie was really based on (I believe) when Clint was talking abou the pictures hanging on the wall at the bar.
