Sometimes it seems like we have a LOT of divorcees here getting screwed over.

So, what's the reality?

I can honestly say I've given it my best shot.
Never happened.
For sure, I've had girlfriends, but nothing that was ever destined to go anywhere good.

Still on number one.  This one needs to pump out more kids and make me more $ before I ditch her for a 19 year old that snaps her gum and lets me poke her in the butt.

Divorced, remarried the bitch (Version 1.0), divorced it again.

Married new younger model with her shit together. Version 2.0, since 1.0 had WAY too many defects. Going on 5 years with 2.0, of which married for two and change of it. Just moved to TN so she could get her PHD in Psychology.

Life is great.

I am seperated, and the divorce should be final in about a month from now. We were married for 6 years, but just couldn't make it work. I would love to say it was both of us giving up on making it work, but it was mainly me.

Strive as much as possible to make it, your attitude says your going to. Eventually you will both end up needing each other so much that you can't do without each other.  That's when you know the marriage has and will always be a success.

It really is a team effort, and bigger than either one of you.  Adaptation is the key.  Things change, and people change.  Some grow together, some grow apart.

There were a few times in the past we could have split, thank god we made it.  Looking back the reasons that we had friction were money/job/stress/etc based and had nothing to do with each other.

I think the first 8 years or so were the hardest.  The last 5 years have beeen the best.

Wise words.  There have been some major bumps in the road (some are still there) but we're both striving to make it work.  Actually, I think it's getting easier as we go.

Divorced and re-married.  Guess I didn't learn my lesson on the first one.    Actually I love my wife very much, we've been married for 2 years but have known each other for 5 years.  There is always pot holes in the road but hey that's what makes life interesting.
