I have been making a pot of "Classic" Folgers every morning for so long...
I am getting kinda tired of it. I think I need to switch to something a bit more exciting. What do you guys drink, as your "everyday coffee" ? Tap, RO, filtered, or bottled water? |
I usually buy Millstone at BJ's, and I like it.
I tried something else at BJ's ( Some Hawaiian Kona Blend), and I don't particulary care for it. Millstone |
Community Dark Roast, black.
Nothing else comes close. I will, however, have a chocolate cappachino when I'm feeling girly. |
Millstone's Breakfast Blend is quite good. Generic Arabica from Sam's/Costco isn't bad. I usually buy a lb. or two from Dunkin' Donuts when it goes on sale. That's my #1 favorite... A pound will get me through the winter. I don't drink it in the summer... Not crazy about the rib-sweat. I switch to diet cola then. |
I switch between Folger's Columbian and their French Vanilla when I want a "sweeter" flavor in the morning.
Weekday = Starbucks Grande Americano. With 3 Splenda and a splash of half/half
Weekend = Since I have an espresso machine, I buy the Starbucks Espresso roast and make the Americano at home. |
Dunkin donuts regular whole bean.
I grind it fresh before every pot. I have lots of other coffees so I don't get bored or sick of any one of them. Other favorites are: Hill of Beans Dakota blend Trader Joes columbian supremo Godiva Creme Brule I pretty much like columbian supremos and other medium roasts. Dark roasts are okay once in awile but can tear up my stomach if I drink too often. |

HeloBravo wins the prize.
There is no better coffee that the Louisiana State Coffee....COMMUNITY... www.communitycoffee.com/ccc/ |
Kroger (local grocery chain) dark roast and tap water, plus sugar and creamer.
Foldger is GROSS, IMO.
Try the coffee at Kroger's where you choose how much and what flavor you want-- MUCH better than Foldgers ANY DAY.... May I suggest hazelnut creame. |
For those who don't know, Americanos are shots of espresso mixed with water. I usually get a venti iced americano, no water (the ice is the water) (AKA Venti Iced Quad Espresso -- same price, both are 4 shots, no water)... mix with a splash of whole milk and sweet & low to taste... Way cheaper than a venti iced latte, and you get another shot... another good one: straight carmel sauce (not syrup) mixed with 3 or 4 espressor shots, pour over ice. Sometimes mix with cream. |

Starbucks Sumatra brewed at home. I love rich flavored full bodied coffee without a burnt or bitter taste. This is some good sh*t.
Plain old Maxwell House.Black.(got tired of picking mouse shit out of the sugar bowl in the 80s)
With whatever water comes out of the sink.(even at work, where it was marked NONPOTABLE,for years.) Have gone with Folgers in a pinch. All them other coffees are for folks that don't like coffee. Used to work with some sick SOB who mixed blackstrap molasses in boiling water. One day, after working all night,I REALLY needed coffee. Was out,so I tried his drink.AARRRGGHHHH!!!! ETA: Just went back and seen what some of you all are drinking. Are you ghey? Can anyone of you imagine the look on your Grandpa's face if he asked for a cup of coffee and took a sip of the shit you're drinking? Damn metrosexual kids....... |
At work we drink Folgers. The person that makes it doesn't know how so it really sucks.. Try 8 Oclock 100% Columbian. Very good and about 1/3 the price of the other specialty brands.
Local supermarket beans. I don't know the brand, I just buy it and toss it into the grinder.
Starbucks, Tullys, Seattles Best
Trader Joes puts out good coffee Costco Kirtland is decent too |
what ever my wife fills the thermos with, I have no idea come to think of it.
I had to give up coffee because of tachycardia Damn, I miss coffee.
That is a REAL MAN right there. |
In terms of coffee, pretty much anything higher quality than Folger's. For tea, I'm a sucker for the "breakfast" line. :O
That sucks man. I used to have that when I was younger, in college. My resting heart rate was over 100 often. I never had it professionally diagnosed, tho. As I got older... it went away. 58bpm now.... after a full pot of black coffee. |
Folgers. It's what they have at work.
I seldom make coffee at home. |
Heh. Take a bunch of beta blockers then go on a coffee spree. :P |
Right now it's Peet's Major Dickason's blend.
anything with only arabica beans. no robusto or blend coffee.
Dunkin Donuts whole bean, and we grind it fresh every morning. Used to be Costa Rican that we got shipped to us, but it has gotten a little pricey :)
Used to buy whole beans from a local business that roasted raw beans locally ... That got expensive when life took some strange turns and there wasn't as much disposable income around for luxury items.
I started buying Chock Full o' Nuts 100% Columbian at the grocery store, and have stuck with that for a few years. Much cheaper, lasts longer, and tastes great. |
So, is it any good? |
Whatever I've roasted this week. I think right now I've got a combo of Sumatran Mandheleng and Nicaraguan Matagalpa that I roasted on Saturday.
Do you use the modified-popcorn-popper method for roasting? |
