What was the BEST thing Clinton did? Try to think of a serious answer, I know there is plenty to poke fun at.

So what was the best thing he did in those 8 years, there's got to be something?

Pulled our boys out of Somalia.  I realize that he pulled them out due to sheer cowardice, but they should've never been there to begin with.  That's a pretty lousy "best" thing.

Well he fixed the economy.
He made our streets safer with the AWB
He improved the morale in the military.
He got a BJ.

OK so only one of the four is true.

I have to disagree, Eleanor Mondale!

Going along with welfare reform is his biggest accomplishment.

It is amazing how many Dems still think he was great stuff when he, in actual terms, got none of his platform accomplished.

not by any means a clinton lover, but he did resist a lot of pressure from the rest of the world right after princess diana died to get us to sign the landmine ban treaty, but he refused to do it cause it would have fucked over our troops on the Korean DMZ.Corse that dosnt make up for selling our nuclear warhead secrets to red china for campain money, but it was the one time he stood up for the best intrests of the american people

I think this was Clinton, but I am not 100 % sure...if it was him, this is the ONLY thign I agree w/ him on.

Selling your house you do not pay Taxes on the profit unless you make over $250K, or have lived in the house < 3 years. I know this is a law, becasue I sold my house and made a few $$, and paid no Taxes. Now, if a Bush did that it would be a tax cut for the rich....

Again, I am not 100% sure if that was Bill Billy Bob Clinton who signed that into law.

Other then that, him Leaving office!

Signed welfare reform and NAFTA, Iraqi Liberation Act, stopped Balkan genocide (after standing by for 6 years), Cut capital gains tax from 28% to 20%, ordered military to end the block on civilian GPS that made civilian units less accurate than military ones.

Absolutely.  He also was an unwavering advocate of free trade.

GWB could learn a few things from Clinton when it comes to controlling spending and free trade.

He did what the Republican congress forced him to do.

Other than that...the best thing he did was...LEAVE!

Just imagine the mischief he and Hillary could have done IF the adults had not regained control of the congress in 1994 after 40 years of entrenched liberalism?

HILLARYCARE ANYONE?

He put the CMP under private management, so now orders get processed much quicker. Of course I doubt that he did it for our benefit, but rather as a cost savings.

Easy. He proposed lots of way-out far-left policies like Hillarycare and the AWB, thus driving the American public to give the Republican party control of the House for the first time in decades.

I know some people will be unhappy with me saying this, but one of the good things he did was NOT cut taxes so much that he didn't have revenue surpluses to actually pay down the national debt significantly.

I'm ready for my beating now.....

+1 for turning off "Selective Availability" that artificially degraded civilian GPS performance... the unit on my boat frequently reports estimated position error as tight as 20ft!  Before, if I remember correctly, the best that we could hope for would be somewhere around 300ft.

I don't remember who said this in the summer before the '92 election, but I heard someone on the radio say that whoever won that election would probably get 8 years in office because they would ride high on the peace dividend. This person predicted the economic boom because of the end of the cold war expenditures.
