There is absolutely no difference between Allah and the God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus . Muslims do not believe that Prophet Muhammad was the only prophet; rather they believe that he was the last of the prophets of the Old and New Testaments. The Holy Koran is the revealed and sacred scripture of Islam, and it teaches: "Say (O Muslims), ‘We believe in Allah and that which is sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the tribes; to Moses and Jesus and the prophets of their Lord. We do not differentiate between any of them, and to Him we are submissive (Muslims.)” Koran 2:136.

We know what we're talking about. The God who specifically mandated in the Torah that gentile strangers in Israel be subject to the same laws and receive the same justice as Israelites did not thereafter establish dhimmitude (second-class status for non-Muslims) in the Koran.

The God who inspired the Bible did not thereafter screw up his genealogy and identify Miriam, the sister of Moses, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, as the same person.

No one disputes that Muslims claim that Allah is Yahweh. They're lying or misguided.

There is ONLY ONE 'VERSION' OF THE BIBLE.

There are MANY TRANSLATIONS of that ONE VERSION.

There is actually only one VERSION of the Koran, as well, and there are NO authoritative 'translations' of the Koran - only the original Arabic 'translation' is considered authoritative.

Now, it also has been translated into many different languages, but none are considered 'authoritative.'

Do a 'Google' search on that subject, and learn something that caused the Ayatollah Komeini to put a fatwa on Author Salman Rushdie's bearded pate for even bringing the subject to the infidels' attention!

It concerns the 'truce' that Mohammad made with the people of Mecca to permit them to continue in their worship of the moon god's three goddess-daughters...

The Satanic Verses refers to a short passage of the Qur'an purported to have once existed by a small number of the historical records of Islam. The verses were perhaps first named "satanic verses" by Sir William Muir. Scholars of Islam disagree as to whether these verses ever actually existed, or if their history is a myth. Perhaps the most notable Muslim who accepted the truth of the Satanic verses account was the eminent Pakistani scholar Fazlur Rahman, formerly of the University of Chicago.

Translated from Arabic, the Satanic Verses are "these are exalted females whose intercession is to be desired" in the 53rd sura of the Koran, Surat-An-Najm ("The Star"). Said to have been between verses 19-20, the females referred to were the goddesses al-Lat, Manah, and Uzza, who were three deities in pre-Islamic Arabia.

If you knew the entire history of Galileo and the Church, you would know that his final 'inquisitor' was none other than Cardinal Maffeo Barberini, likewise from Florence, who had befriended and financially supported Galileo and his work during his early days.

Cardinal Maffeo Barberini had, in the meantime, become Pope Urban VIII, and it very, very unlikely that Galileo would have been executed at this man's insistence!

BTW, the Pope did not order Galileo to stop his research in the meanwhile, he only ordered that the research not be published.

That's about as 'liberal' an attitude as one could find in Italy in those years.

Just a couple points. Galileo hardly got just a slap on the wrist, he was forced to denounce "truth." This is just as terrible a blow to liberty and personal freedom as anything done by the Clintons. Please do not try and put a happy face on it.

Also the Dark Ages stagnated development across the board. People weren't punished for scientific advancements that may have contradicted church doctrine, they were afraid to even look for the answers in the first place. It was a terrible, shameful period of human history.

The problem is currently Muslims are doing EXACTLY the same thing still. It's like they traded places with Dark Age Christians.
