I was a machine builder for a decade and have a ton of tools in the garage, but found a small kit for projects around the house or to bring to people's houses when I'm helping move or install something is really handy. Granted, any real project gets the toolbag.
This kit started with a weird fascination with small tools that eventually all ended up in a 8"x10" Mille pouch. In the kit I have a bit for almost any screw, 1/4" socket set, files, glues, oils, pliers, hammer, etc. Unless I need a drill or other power tool, I rarely grab a bigger toolbox around the house. The socket wrench is really cool in that it has a 1/4" socket drive on one side and a 1/4" hex drive on the other. The brass hammer is handmade and has a straight slot screwdriver as the handle (a play on the old pallet hammers). The Klein scissors will cut through anything, even light sheet metal, the Wear screwdriver is handy AF, Knipex combo pliers speak for themselves, and the Klein TL-29 has a scrapper that I actually use all the time. I'm going to go ahead and recommend the 4WR or 5WR (4" or 5") vise grip pliers for you mini plier lovers out there.
No they don't have the sexy ,oozing quality nature of Knipex or Klein or Vamplier, but man do they work . |

I also have the toolbag.  Attached FileI figured out how to get a full 3/8" socket set and a full 1/4" sets on a socket bar. Has extensions, adapters, etc. Mostly Snap-On, but some USA Craftsman and Bahco mixed in:  Attached FileI also got 5 of my most used deep wells on a threaded rod, had to try a few brands but found a way to nest them in the size of a wrench:  Attached File |

Nice job. Looks super handy
I would only suggest a small prybar like a dasco, or an old school putty knife. I don't doubt you own any, I just thought they make nice additions to the mini tool pouch you bring to homes. They really don't make good putty knives anymore. Not that I have seen anyways. The Knipex Pliers wrenches are amazing Have you tried super glue with an activator? It makes it set to hard enough in seconds. What is that 1/4 right angle bit holder? Looks like I need one. That hammer needs its own thread.

The knife is a surplus TL-29. I tool love a nice SAK but they suck at a lot of things that even a dedicated mini tool can do easily. Such as Phillips screws. |

Good post, I'm going to buy some of that stuff, thank you. Some of you should posts lists lol. The Klein type scissors are, or used to be, given (different brand, made in Germany) to the phone techs here. They had a box of news ones for the taking, a friend got me a few fair, they really will cut through almost anything. |

That's really cool, thanks for sharing. I was gifted a multitool with a hammer on it (Leatherman Signal) one year and have been blown away by how much use it gets during my regular day to day. Sometimes everything really is a nail
Now I really want to make myself a brass hammer. |

I really need a 1/4" drive socket set for my mini kit. I'd really like a minimalist sae/metric set that isn't full body size on the smaller hex sizes and is organized in a rubber sleeve. I haven't been able to find such an animal.
Only want the sockets. Already have a Wiha mini ratchet and drive bit set to pair it with. |

I forgot who recommended the Knipex pliers on here, maybe stoney0102 or something, but those things are fricking awesome. The only tool I use around the house more often is a phillips screwdriver.
