Wasn't that pretty much the number one hit TV show from about the '89 to '92 timeframe? Remember the little green monster in the woods?

I watched and have watched the reruns when on but dont really recall the monster
|
|
Yes. That and Picket Fences were a couple of my favorite shows as a kid.

|
.
I think that show ended when everyone got eaten by a wyvern. |
|
Yes. Also went to the town in Washington state where they filmed it for the hell of it.
|
|
It was one of my favorites when it was on. I haven't watched a rerun to see if it held up though.

One of my all-time favorite shows, and one of the first to portray Indians in a modern, non-stereotypical way. This meant a lot to me.
"Think like a fish, think like a shower..." |

Inspired me to move to AK for a couple of years. Never did find Maggie

Probably my all time favorite tv show.
The one and only tv series I have entirely on DVD, wrapped in it's own little sheepskin leather case. |

Great show. Just watched some clips on YouTube the other day. Saw the first half of the cow tossing episode, but can't find the second half. The show went down hill when Joel left. I thought about getting the dvds but they replaced the original music, and I hear it really ruins it.

The fling is the thing, not the thing you fling.

I accepted a job offer while having lunch in The Brick.
The real one, in Roslyn, WA, where the show was shot. |
|
Saw a few repeats, never much cared for it.
Any kind of story/book/tv show/movie set in Alaska/northern Canada/the Arctic bores me to tears for some reason. |
|
Great show.
IIRC, TBS or maybe Nick showed the reruns for a couple of years. And I do remember the little green fairy / troll thing. |
|
I spent a few of my formative years in Alaska.
The characters on the show were caricatures of Alaskans, but not that far off. The native mayor of the small town I grew up in would dress like a clown and drive his backhoe in the 4th of July parade, throwing candy to the kids. Damn, I miss that place. And I loved Northern Exposure: Quirky, funny, and sweet. |

I like it a lot. One of the few series I own on DVD.
It could have run another two or three years if Rob Morrow had not bailed. |

I liked the show. I wish Netflix would pick it up. Wonder if there's a way to send in requests or get a petition up. |

I only watched the episode where the Titan Tornado (ultralight) was featured. The aircraft is built locally and was neat to see it on TV.
https://www.bydanjohnson.com/pilotreport/titan-aircraft-tornado-ii/ In the last year, the Titan company scored a huge media success by having its Tornado appear on the popular TV show Northern Exposure. On the show, pilot character, Maggie, builds and flies the Tornado and the entire episode deals with the aircraft intimately. Titan boss John Williams was hired to provide technical consultation and the show gave a welcome boost to ultralight aviation. View Quote |

Only watched it because I thought living in AK would be cool and nothing else on antenna TV.

I grew up in AK, there was only one TV channel. RATnet. We were forced to watch whatever was on.
I hated that show, everybody in Alaska hates it too. In the show the weather was always sunny... It's never sunny in my part of AK. In SE AK, it always rains. Did I mention I hated it. |

I should have sent her my credit card because I charged it many times to her as a young teen.

Yup. John Corbett is from my hometown and went to my high school. Names he used in his prison stories were teachers and administrators from said school..

I've been to the town they modeled it after and the One they filmed it in.
Love it. |

What's up with male and female TV characters calling each other by their last names, even after they get together?

Used to watch it with my wife. Secretly always wished Jeanine would grow her hair out. She was smokin but I like longer hair.

Watching episode 1 of season 3. Maurice claims Donald Trump doesn't pay a dime in taxes. |
