I think the pilot episode was outstanding. And overall, most episodes were pretty good.

Completely agree, OP.
I never watched it when it was on but caught the series on Amazon, Netflix or one of the streaming services and was bummed there wasn't more. Hell, the series is/was better than some of the movies. |

First season was great, second season had an extra character that (to me) dragged the show down. Things were just really getting going good again when it ended.
I think that it was yet another casualty of writer's strike... Didn't the first season have a shorter run then the second came in a little late or something? And this was when networks were realizing how much cheaper crappy "reality" shows were to produce and stick in the scripted timeslots. Eta: I was as interested in the side plot with the liquid terminator if not more so than the main story. |

Never saw it. I imagined it was going to be a never ending series of running away from the latest weekly monster robot from the future mixed in with standing around talking about dumbass inter-character drama, with everything smothered by G rated political correctness..

I really liked it.
Lena Headey brought it as Sarah: Ferocious, paranoid, and crazy as a Chernobyl rat. The character of John was developed as he went from sullen "woe is me" teenager to the beginning of war leader. And let's not forget he sent sent Cameron back to himself. A less capable, overtly sexual, deliberately untrustworthy message to his 15 years old self. Skynet became an actual character-possessed by oblique intentions and strategies and outlined by those who served it-and the creepy, creepy scenes from the future. |

I watched that when it was one of the first shows to go on the XBox 360. So, I've seen the first half of the first season, for sure, maybe the whole first season.
I'm a huge Shirley fan (met her in '95), but I haven't seen her episodes. I'm not sure why, like I'm afraid or something. Part of it was that the show got cancelled, so I didn't want to get attached to it, ya know? I should stream the show. Wife might like it as well. |

I like that some of the Terminators were starting to play their own game at survival, just like Skynet. Thinking and learning. Seeing the writing on the wall and taking steps to ensure a future of their own.
