Just sitting here reading and posting and looked over at my desk and saw one of my older Case gentleman's knives and was wondering if anyone carries them around in their pockets anymore for everyday use. I've kind of gotten into the custom knife scene, not the kind I would carry in a pocket with change you know. Sometimes its difficult to spend the money on a knife when you can get new firearms for around the same price. The kind of pocketknives I'm talking about carrying are more along the lines Boker, Case, Hen & Rooster,etc..Is this becoming a pastime like pocketwatches..Yes I collect those too..

I was just thinking about that too. Must be a Tennessee thing.
I carry a really old Buck (301?) that my father bought me when I was about 8. I don't carry some fancy stabber though, because I carry a .45! |
|
I do except for when I'm at the office. Seems everyone I know here in TX carries some sort of a knife or gun. Crazy bastards!!!
|
|
I am about to start carrying a pocketknife again. I stopped because I kept losing the damned thing.
Then I would find it six months later in the toolbox or the drawer. [BD] |

Ever try to cut something with out one?
A man with out a knife is just not right! This is the gun and knife club right? Bob [:D] |

Front left pocket = Pocket knife, nail clippers and chap stick for the last 28 years.

I have a little Sebenza that's really cool... it replaced an older Swiss Army knive with aluminum handles that I wore the anodizing off of after many years of carry. I'd still use it daily if I could get it open with one hand!

One inch swiss army knife, cuz its got an LED, a three or so inch Victorinaox, and a Gerber folder.
|
|
severtech and when i cant ie out of state that doesnt allow auto knives a swiss army knife

If I have pants on, you can bet I have a knife in my pocket. Just like an American Express card, I DON'T leave home without it.

You know, I took an airplane trip the other day and was talking to the security experts that are keeping us safe in the airports. They told me than anyone carrying a knife OR nail clippers is probably a terrorist. Since you readily...yes...almost PROUDLY admit to carrying both on a daily basis, I must conclude that you are an Al-Quaida ringleader! -Nick Viejo |

I almost always have my friend Gerber with me.....it's my baby.

No, I think everyone carries a Tactical Folder now. I guess it just ain't cool to call it a pocket knife anymore.

Hmm I always though the only people who did not carry pocket knives were women and sissies (and fags).

Never be afraid to carry a custom knife.
Use them that is what they are there for. A custom knife is like a custom gun if you don't use it its worthless. Heres my box cutter. |

I own couple knives but they are all too big for daily carry or illegal. Lets see...M9, Gurkha Khukhuri, Kabar, and butterfly (aka balisong). I also have swiss army knife for when I go fishing.

Are you out of your mind?
I sold ALL my knives and bangsticks after hooking up with a hairy-legged Sierra Club earth momma. For a while, it was a real pain trying to cut meat, but then she straightened me out on that count, too. It's gettin' real cold up here in the Sierras, she has a thing about fire being a throw-back to Neanderthal days, and of course fossil fuel is out of the question. I spend my days looking to the Western horizon, thinking about what wonderful improvements will come our way next year, thanks to our visionary representatives in Sacramento. That is, when I'm not watching the squirrels and making careful notes on where I might find a spare acorn later on..... It seems like more and more, I will get a glimpse of some good-sized cat, and they thankfully seem to not be so scared of us -- they've gradually been coming closer. Though I miss the puppies that have gradually gone off, I guess, to play with them, I'm looking forward to getting to know the felines really closely, along with whatever is making those cool scratches up high on the big tree nearby. Well, it's getting late, and I need to finish this article I'm reading about how to improve the socialization of our furry and other friends so that we can bring their awareness to the level where they no longer feel the need for senseless violence, hawk attacking rodent, and fish snapping at various insects (just as they begin to take wing - such a loss). Meanwhile, Granola, me, and little Conifer wish you all well in your quest to give up the weaponry addiction. PRK |

I carry a Columbia River M16-13 with me almost everywhere I go.
edited to add: i have an M16-13M 1*, too, but don't like it as much. the blade is painted black, and it doesn't have quite as good of an edge as the vanilla M16-13. |

In my civies I have always carried a jack knife.
Still do. Before the Leatherman type tools came out, I had one with a leatherpunch in it. It saved me many times repairing horse gear in camp. |
|
My trusty Benchmade 3" Elishewitz Tanto in black (natch) goes with me everywhere.
|
|
nothing fancy. i loose them to often and they are not very usefull.
but i do carry a swiss army knife on my key chain and a Ken onion Leek made by Kershaw. not a "gentleman's" knife but it's small and suits me. |

Schrade Tool on my belt when working, Swiss Army when a big sheath on the belt just isn't the thing to have.
|
|
front left pocket has pocket knife, front right small swiss with nail file/sissor type, right rear tactical defense.
I thought this configuration was standard. |
|
I carry a Spyderco Police model or a rescue Tanto depending on my mood.
I used to carry around the Swiss Army penknives, but I got tired of losing them all the time. |

Everyday, everywhere.
Mini-Leatherman on keychain Microtech Mini-Socom in right front pocket. Microtech Elite Socom cliped inside waste band. Leatherman Supertool in console of pickup. The Microtech is the best knife I ever bought. |

So...am I the only one who carries their AR15.com CKRT folder everywhere they go?
One advantage to being in NJ....the thing SCARES people...hehehe. |

Yup. Been carrying one since I was 'bout 8. My current one is a small 2 bladed Kabar.

I always have my Benchmade Axis Lock with me or I sometimes switch it out for the one of two Spider-Co Enduras I have. I prefer the endura with the steal handle I have already had to get the composite handle replaced once.

I can't carry a knife most of the time. I have to go through too many metal detectors everyday. It's really a pain when you grew up used to having one of those boy scout knives with the screw driver etc on them. I guess it's a different world now [:(]

I carry my (standard) Leatherman everywhere I go. I have for the past 9 years. It was issued to me as a crew chief in the AF and I never go anywhere without it.

Damn
Just got up..haven't even started the coffee yet and have been reading all of your replies!! Green_Furniture- Must be TN. Yes I do carry a pocketknife, gentleman's knife, tactical knife..whatever you desire to call them. I don't carry them everyday because of the amount of travel I do with business..although in my line of work guns tend to be a little more effective against gemstone bandits. I had a friend a few months ago that lost 500k in a briefcase outside a LA jewelry store. Thank God he wasn't killed and the "stuff" was insured!!...Sorry off the topic. Knives are tools and I look forward to carrying one on a more permanent basis. Thanks for all your replies!! Gemologist[x] BLOAT Buy Lots Of Ammo Today |
