Lol. Okay at least we agree on that.

The LaRue Kool aid drinkers are weird bunch.

Don't lie.  You would chug that Kool-Aid if you could afford it.

It's good Kool Aid, and a good product, but some of these guys take it a little far.

No shit. I think there was at least one thread where so dude had a kid and his first reaction was to cover it in larue swag and take pictures. I don't get it. I like their stuff, but Jesus H. Christ they are freaking wierd.

I thought you were making a joke about the dozens(probably hundreds by now) of people who have started threads here about the free LaRue stuff that has come with every single order for years.

That is a side joke.  Not the primary point.

You kinda have to read between the lines with me.

Anyway, I am happy with my preliminary results so far. I bought the upper years ago and have only shot it twice now. Once with irons at 267 yards against cinderblocks, and now with the scopw for groups.

I actually like it now.

Scope mount preliminary testing.

100 yards

55 grn prvi partisan fmj surplus 08.

Black pen group was first group.
Then I shot about 20 rds in batches of 5.
Then, I took off scope mount and remounted it, and shot red group.

The remount group is one half inch lower and one half inch to the left.

When I remounted it, I did so differently than when I mounted it the first time.  Next time I will use a torque wrench to see if it is different.

Yes. Read the test outline on page 1. If you have any suggestions to make it better let me know.

We will both be shooting both rifles  to remove as much human bias as possible. I will try my best on each gun.

This all came about because, I was pricing out a build I was gonna do, and it came to 2100 $ without any optics or mount.

Then, I remembered this upper and how I hadn't even shot it for groups yet. And another upper I have that is cheap, but has worked well for years.

Anyway, my friend has an expensive upper with latest greatest parts. One that I wouldn't mind owning.  We are doing this test to see what kind of differences we can ascertain.

I think he actually wanted the thread to get views.  That being said I just don't trust the screw mechanism on the cheaper mount.  Sure there are some cheaper scope mounts that work, but I had a similar mount to yours and it didn't hold multiple range use zero.  I since changed to a LaRue with no problems.  Bobro makes a really nice mount but I haven't tried it yet.

Update:

I took it out again today.

Horrible weather (Heavy Rain and Wind).

1) Shot it on the same upper.  Zero was same as before (not a surprise... it was not removed since last time).
2) Swapped it to a different upper.  16" RRA postban upper.  Originally it had a hakko red dot sight on it.  Using black hills blue box 69grn smk's, the red dot achieved 2" group.   Mounting the scope, the same ammo got about a .8" group at 100 yards.  Very happy.

3)Remounted it on 20" upper with same torque, and shot another group.  It was about 1/2" off from previous mounting (same as when I didn't measure torque). (100 yards).

A full review of the DNZ Freedom Reaper scope mount will be done later after my friend gets his lower complete.
So far, it seems to be performing quite well.  Cheap-o scope/mount, cheap-o uppers, sub moa groups.
