Apart from the Pigskin Red River War. Politicaly as Goes Texas so goes Oklahoma.

I have to much family to take off across the country, like a vagabond in the event of disaster. I'll more than likely be somewhere in Northern Oklahoma, Making sure that the days of outlaws like, The Doolin/Dalton and Hole in the Wall Gangs, do not return to the Nations.

Just think of us as Texas's Buffer Zone.

Who knows, we might be able to squeeze just a little more oil out of the Anadarko Basin in a pinch. Beef, Wheat, Control Of I-35 and I-240, AWACS, The Ammo Depots, Fort Sill the home of the U.S. Armies Field Artillery. No ground burst Nuclear Targets uprange to our West.

Yeah, I think I can make a go of it here in OkieLand.

We'er just up the road apiece from the Hun.

They already have several contingency plans ready to activate depending on the SHTF situation. I was advised that meeting up with a large group of people not personally known is not a very good plan as it could end up with everyone drinking almond flavored kool-aid.

No almond flavored kool-aid for me thanks.  I plan on sticking to water mostly.  Oh, and I intend on bringing the host the small gift of a case of Wild Turkey, as that's what was in the photo he keeps posting.

We in Texas may be dead in weeks, you on the beach may last for a few more months.

I think that if you throw the nuclear factor in the equation, all bets are off!

A very good suggestion for our second mission, after we get settled down in Hunland, Texas!

We have US Hwy 287 nearby, which is a straight march into the liberal, sissified enemies stronghold.

Its workable!

My family has ~6000 acres of land in Southern Georgia - that's where I would be. Totally self sufficient, including raising chickens, growing peanuts, cotton, and corn, several ponds with good sized fish, a skeet range, horses, quale hunting, a lodge, 4-wheelers, and more. It's the family "compound"....

And last time I checked, citizens can have Class III stuff in Georgia...

The compound is a ways from civilization (like 45 minutes from the nearest good grocery store). It's more than 2 hours south of Atlanta. They turn over 400,000 broaster chickens every 6 weeks. Commercial farming for the corn, peanuts, and cotton. Some DAMN good fish. Totally self-supporting. Even have an on-site church/banquet facility!

The fact that it's so far from "the world" is the only reason I didn't try to set up a Thunder Ranch/Gunsite/Front Site type of facility.

But when the SHTF, I'll be heading there and closing the gate behind me. 'cept for you AR15.com guys who bring some heavy hardware & ammo & know the secret handshake.....

Mr. TheHun,

I would like to apply for out-of-state entry priviledge to your 'compound'. Let me list my family's qualifications:

My wife is a native Texan, born and raised outside of Amarillo. She is also an excellent pistol shot and a great cook.

My son is a big strapping lad and was born in far-western Texas (New Mexico). He is an EMT and is a sophmore in college on his way to being a Dr. He is also a great shot.

I am just a guy.

Thanks for your consideration. We await your decision regarding our fate.

I resemble that remark! My wife says that I rarely (don't) snore and only hog the covers every night!

I am sure that if the SHTF we will all 'get closer'. (No, I don't mean it that way, get your head out of the gutter!!).

DonR, I think that your wife and mine would have a lot to say about the sleeping arrangements.... don't you think?

ETH, BTW look back at your posts in this topic and see if you can see where you came up with  (accidentally I'm sure) a new AR15.com product! In your untapped wisdom you typed, "in AR15.comdom", just think of the possibilities if you change just one letter and then have the AR15.condom.
Can you imagine the marketing possibilities? Prebans, postbans, hi-capacity, muzzle brakes, flash hiders, triggers, semi-auto, full auto, long range, Close Quarters Battle, night ops, special ops, and these are just a few. We could make kajillions!!! And yes, I said we, you get credit for the initial 'fruedian slip' and I get credit for the 'capitalization' of your slip!!

Great job, partner!

1,000 acres, approximately.

The Pease River has been cutting into our property since we Huns got there in 1885!

It's got an incredible amount of wild life on it as well!

Possibly since I don't permit hunting on it!

As I've always said, so long as the grocery stores are open, why hunt?

When the grocery stores close for good, then will the Hun become the Hunter![:D]
