Eric, is there room for a few more at the Farm? I've got a buttload of ammo to bring to the party, plus a decent 4x4 and a gun or two.

Almost makes me look foward to a SHTF situation... It'd be like the BRC all the time!

ETH,

I'm currently entrenched on the west koast and, for the time being, remain so due to family and economics.  Being far enough removed from major targets and with ready access to natural resources, I will initially dig in if SHTF in the near future.  However, my lady is currently working in San Antonio for an indefinite amount of time.  I will be directing her to head for your general location should TSHTF and would hope that she is welcome.  Due to the transitory nature of her job she has little to no equipment(defensive pistol).  However, she's ex Coast Guard specialized in communications.  The only requirement she'll have is that you accept her double yellow amazon parrot 'Green bean'.  He's her baby and a source of unending entertainment.  I thank you in advance for taking her in.

This thread has also determined that the next piece of equipment I acquire to be some type of short wave radio set up.  Long distance communication will most likely be key to surviving any long term event.

I'm ready for something different.  How about:

1. Rancho ETH for a laid-back weekend of shooting.
2. Texas Tactical for a more organized shoot.

ETH says it's fine with him and Iron Mike's extended an invite so we have a choice.

What do you guys WHO WILL ATTEND and LEND A HAND want to do?

Well, ilikelegs, we do have a 5000 watt generator (gee, I wish I had followed REALERIC's advice and cranked it up while we were there) so it can run a couple of large fans.

Whatever you wish to bring is fine.

My cabin is a 20 x 30 concrete slab with insulated walls, an insulated roof and seventeen windows.

No water, no electricity. There is, however, a 5000 watt generator on site to operate fans if necessary.

There's a state park across the Pease River to go s***, shower, and shave!

If we do this in late June, I'll probably rent a couple of motel rooms in Crowell, so we can go in and cool off if it gets too hot.

Plenty of good country food around the area.

I'll have at least one dune buggy out there for some adventurous touring of the Farm.

Yes, bring sleeping bags and cots is you have them, but don't worry too much, we have always been able to make do with whatever we had.

You will be pleasantly surprised, I think.
