Looks like Casio has released the MDV-106 Duro in a blue dial/bezel and in a gold gilt version. Anyone have a source for these around the $42 mark of the black version? Most places are over $60.

I meant to get a Doxa 750T PVD about fifteen years ago.
But Seiko has not gone of the deep end like they have lately and the Swiss were not as alluring as they are now and I kept getting sidetracked.

I finally saw one in person.  It was the 5000T PVD - instead, but the coating was holding up well.  That’s a better watch objectively, but I am still going to hunt down a 750 like this.

I wish the Lume filled the entire indices, and that the hour hand was a little larger,
Buts it’s just a touch more classic looking than the 5000 with the dial layout.

The one that looks like this

I really want a 45.5mm Planet Ocean and a 44mm Speedmaster.

I think I could own those two watches plus my Ball and be perfectly happy with those three and nothing else... although I do lust after a Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller, alas a pipe dream.

I think if I buy these two I could legit avoid temptations to buy any new watches for a few years.

Just ordered a Longines Conquest VHP Chrono with carbon fiber dial today. Should be here Friday. Great looking watch and supposed to be very, very accurate. Like +/- 5 seconds a year accurate.

I really like vintage divers of the mid 1960s to mid 1970s, and the models still made like them.

Some have not been made in a very long time, and I enjoy re-releases/updates like by Seiko, Certina, Doxa, Yema, Zodiac, etc, that have been happening lately or stuff like when Watchco Australia was building 1968 Omega SM300s out of NOS movements, cases, etc. and brand new OEM service parts.

I think my next one will be this

If there are any resurrected/re-release vintage divers you know of that I do not, please point them out.

I like it.

Retro release cushion cases for the win,

Ok, retro releases kick ass in general, even if not cushion cased.

Damn.

For a watch that has not been made in over 30 years, that looks great.

A 6309 automatic mainplate quartz powered movement is shamefully high quality quartz compared to Swiss.

I’ve been looking for one for a while and had several recently slip through my fingers. This one still has sticker residue on the back.

Awesome. I saw that one pass through on WatchRecon. It looks to be in amazing condition.

Seiko really needs to do a retro quartz diver like the 7548.

The 7C46 is a great movement that powered the SBBN007 300m tuna and 1000m tunas for about 25 years.  Even ten years ago, the 300m was a fantastic buy for 400$.  Then they made it a $1000 watch and the movement is still powering their professional quartz divers.  They have essentially doubled the prices of several diver lines since.

Maybe in an SKX or SRP turtle case it would be pretty cool.

They would probably put a cheap solar movement in it and make it 52mm l2l.

I am looking for the right Wittnauer All-Proof.  Same watch as Jimmie Mattern wore on his attempts to circumnavigate the world, Byrd wore on his Antarctic mission, and Armstrong wore on Gemini 8.  It's small by current styles, but the history has me hooked.
