hey, thanks for the post over in general, I only posted to piss off that Stehr guy who is a dealer and trying to get everyone to buy a $600 worthless 9MM carbine.....I should have used the Kel-Tec sub2000 as an example instead of the Hi-Point, typed too fast..........it was a kind of a tongue in cheek post in the first place just to piss him off a little..........

steyraug is a good guy. i've bought stuff from him..i think beerjager has too.

We both know he's a good guy... I just get sick of reading everyone's condescending bullshit online after a while. It seems that not many people ever have anything worth while to discuss, or are incredibly willing to jump all over someone's case for little or no reason at all.

I wouldn't ever want that gun anyway unless someone gave it to me. I'm not much of a tupperware gun fan, but if the price were right and very low, then I'd buy a Glock, HS2000/XD9/40 or something like that.

The KT Sub2000 would have been a better example, but I didn't think of it either...

I held one yesturday, it feals really tight and strong. Nice and short, actually felt better in my hands than my 9mm AR does.
Which is fucked up statement!!

Also messed w/ a Kel-Yec thing. They are POS, Sleepy717 was there, he can back me up on that. I think his exact words were, "what a fuckin' piece of shit".

If I didn't have money tyed up in 4 other guns I'm building up.
I'd think of getting one. Looks like a great rabbit hunting gun.

Well, for all you carbine fans, here is what I am looking at for the next purchase.

http://www.mechtechsys.com/1911.html

Its still under $300 most places and compliments my other 1911 pistols just fine.

They even have it in 460rowland for all you power mad freaks. A .45" 185gr bullet at close to 2000fps from one of these puts my 30-30 to shame...almost.

On a side note, I did get to take a look at the new beretta GS has on their shelf. $589 is not bad, I suppose.

Enjoy what you have.

SteyrAUG, some folks say you're okay, maybe you are. But I can't remember ever reading a less professional response from a dealer. I'm guessing you wouldn't be a lot of fun to deal with if there was a problem with a purchase.

I think you should shut your hole jem375.
Steyr has gotten me two rifles at a price I could
never get. A 9mm AR and a DSA FAL. If you don't
want to buy something through him then don't.
He has made good deals for many people here and
I don't think anyone has been pissed off about it.
At the very least Steyr is someone we can trust
to see that the deal goes through and he will do things
right. I would hope he makes SOME money off of these
group purchases. Especially with the fact that he
has to put up with punks like you nipping at his heals
all the time.

jem can you get one of these at or near dealer cost ?

I didn't think so. So STFU.

Gee, sorry, didn't know you were so thin skinned. I just posted and wrote that I was intending to let it go, but, here you come again.
I wrote my opinion about anyone buying a $600+ 9MM carbine with no practical use is crazy...if all you want to do is to throw 9MM down the range, get a cheaper gun and use the extra money on ammo...
You can't conceal carry the thing, a pistol is better around your nightstand, and if trouble ever starts, an ar15 or heavier caliber is better.
I don't mind paying $500-$600 for a 9MM pistol because you can carry them and also for a home defense gun they are fine. They at least have a practical use.
I'm glad you like yours, shoot it, hope all those space aliens come down so you can use your "space gun", as you so deftly put it....

steyr...well, my first post was, why would you buy a 9MM carbine for over $600, when you could buy 3 Hi-Point carbines for the same price and probably just as accurate?...after all, it's only a 9MM, nothing fancy, then the fun started by you and friends.......
I think this has gone far enough, and I think the moderator should close this thread since it is obvious you don't want anyone else's opinion but your own to be heard.....
So, Inuhgadnayburhood, can you please close this thread since I am the who originated it?

No one wants a 9mm carbine and Berreta will find this out in a hurry, if it was worth using the military would be using it, HK is the ONLY exception. There no difference between high end 9mm carbines and low end carbines, they are both under powered and limited in effective range, we are not talking about full-auto where control and RPM is key. An AR in 9mm, next joke please!

beekeeper, I wish you would have as much concern about people using profane language on this site as you do about "value-less topics", the direct use of profanity is what ruins it for all, maybe you got a "good deal" from a dealer on this site too.

believe it or not, a 9mm round can be more effective than a 5.56mm round in shorter barrels(ie. 4"-11.5" barrels).
Link Posted: 11/28/2003 6:49:27 PM EDT
small tactical carbines chambered for pistol rounds are used when over-penetration is a factor i.e. going through walls or when close quarters firefights are expected. The M-4 configuration of the M-16 doesn't worry about going through the bad guys and the wall behind them. The HK is the exception because it is a family of weapon designed for the job, select fire, burst, semi, silencer, flashlights. The 5.56 needs more barrel length to get to its potential, the 9mm doesn't.

Jesus Christ! If you don't want a 9mm Storm then don't get one. If you don't like Steyr's GB's then don't participate. I have gotton in on two SA group buys and will again when I get some $$ saved and one comes along that I want in on. One of the huge +'s for getting in on a SA group buy is his rep, you will get your gun and not have to worry about being ripped off is big with me. SA says he is offering a certain product for a certain price and you don't like it then ignore the post. It's really that easy.
