It took about a month from order to delivery but it does seem to be a quality piece. They offer a rail segment  that fits into the slots. I'm not sure if an MLOK will work, let me know if I can take some measurements to better inform.

The tanker front sight is 1/8" wide. It's pretty enormous, a 2 MOA RDS makes a big difference in what I can do with this rifle.

@wookie1562
Yes they do make the rail, but they are not expected to (maybe) have them again until after the new year. I had ordered one with my rail, and when the rail arrived without it I asked about the rail. He said they were OOS and not expected until he started making M14 stuff again after he moved his shop. That was the timeframe he gave me.
He did say the MLOK rails will work, but they have to be modified. I'm not sure exactly what has to be done, and since I took the M14.ca rail off of mine anyway I didn't get into modifying an MLOK rail. The mounting holes are pretty close, but because of how close the handguard body sits to the barrel securing the rail inside isn't easy. Not sure why he went with a proprietary design, but that's one of the things I don't like about the rail.
It is a very high quality rail, and I don't think you're going to find another rail that can get things as low as this one does. That rail issue is just irritating to me when I want to mount a light or DBAL.
ETA: pic thread.

Thank you sir, I may take you up on that. I'm considering putting it on the EE or possibly keeping the rail and using that for an eventual Scout purchase.

Nice.

How's the micro prism working out on that mount?

Nice blaster.
Those mini prism/ACOG mounts are nice. The manufacturer is supposed to be expanding (not sure just what) from what I've seen over on the M14 board.

Is that the m14.ca add-on rail?

I'm thinking about ordering an MLOK to figure out how to modify it to fit. I may be able to put a polymer MLOK on the CNC router and open up the bolt head countersink to accept a thin nut. Then a short bolt can be screwed from the inside.

May be easier to just design and 3d-print an entire new rail.

Yes.  Pain in the ass, is that you have to remove the entire handguard to put on the rail section.

I think it wouldn’t be too hard to modify an MLok rail, IF the screws align with the slots on the handguard.

When I was looking at modding an MLOK rail, running one from the inside out was what I was think would almost have to be done because of how close the rail interior surface is to the barrel. It is a very tight fit in there.
ETA: I was considering tapping a rail section to allow that.

Yes, lots of work for a light mount which I suspect might work fine on the top rail anyways.

I'm searching for one of these surefire micro lights. As a leftie I hope the light can be reversed so it hangs off the right side of the rifle. Have an AR set up similarly with an old VTAC mount.

Something to watch for with the lights, I had a 3V SF scout light in an Arisaka side mount on the M14.ca rail. Because the light was behind the front sight wings I got horrible glare off of that. With a 6V it is better, but I also am using with the VLTOR rail. I tried several combinations of mounts with the M14.ca rail and kept running into the same issue. As long as your light body and mount combination puts your light forward enough you should be fine, but with the smaller lights you can potential end up with that glare coming right back in your eyes depending on your sight and setup.

Exactly. The SF 6V and the Streamlight 6V do that, but I'm not sure about the mini light he was looking at. Haven't messed with one.

Nice rifle. I know that's an Aimpoint, what model? And what rings are you using? I have a Pro I'm thinking about setting up on mine, finding rings that mount it low enough is a pain. Thanks!

If you're not set on being reasonably clone-correct, ADM's AImpoint rings are the smallest I know of. I have their QD mount on my Shugart "clone" and can't recommend it enough.

Not worried about clone-correct, I have a Scout so it's not the right model anyway. Just want the scope down as low as I can get it. Thanks for the info!

With the OEM mount on the PRO and a Bassett Machine base you can get pretty low. Downside is the Bassett is going to cost more than rings, probably.

That's the Bassett Low Pic mount and the Aimpoint PRO as it comes in the box. I was looking at some ARMS or ADM rings too which I think would get it down a little more although not quite as low as an ARMS #18 and rings. But with Bassetts I can switch between a Vortex Razor and the PRO since there is no need to tie the mount to the clip slot base.

My DCM USGI M1 Garand made by International Harvester in good condition, got it way back around 1986.

I also inherited my father's DCM USGI M1 Garand made by Springfield Armory at the end of WW2, it is in a better like new condition as my Garand.

Been wanting one since getting to play with one at Camp Lejeune in the early 90's in the matches...

Picked up a Polytech last week locally and been trying to figure out how to mount a TA55 lower than the picatinny rail/acog mount option.

Remembered the AN/PVS-4 was carry handle mountable like ACOGs.  Found a NOS PVS-4 M14 mount.  Still need a cheek rest, but doable without.

Nice rig.
Picked up my Tanker today. Keeping it fairly close to OEM, although I do plan on having an RMR or SRO on top of an ARMS #18.

The stock definitely needs multiple days worth of tung oil applications.

Beautiful wood... I really only ever wanted one M1A... Planned on leaving it alone.  I feel the start of a new addiction.  I need another to "modernize" now.

Thanks, I was curious what kind of stock I was going to end up with. When I got to the shop and opened up the case I was pleasantly surprised with the wood.
Yeah, until July of last year I thought I was getting a SOCOM and that was it. That led to a Loaded, and then I wanted something kind of in the middle. So now I have three of them. I think I'm done now.
But maybe not.

Yeah, buddy! Very practical set up.

Looks kinda like my M1A with an Aimpoint. I went with an ADM low mount, a Turner AWS sling, and a Triad stock pack.
