I know, I should just cut out my liver with a plastic spoon - it's less painful.

Questions:
Found carbine size triangular HGs, come with small end cap but what about the other end cap?

Anyone cut down an A1 PG to make the shorty they used on some of these?   Not sure how much or what angle to cut. Have a nicely mottled one - don't want to F it up.

Can I own the 10" barrel before I get the receiver SBR'd?  Intent?

How rare are FSB's without the bayo lug?  Should I just grind mine off?

And yes, the holy grail butt stock made from Unobtainium.  Talked to 65pan,  as well as WaTom & MPfiveO on the Subguns board.  All were nice to politely answer my questions and fill me in, but none had any clue where to get a replica stock.  I came late to the party and missed the stripper, so to speak.

Any suggestions are appreciated - just want to know if this is going to be as hard as it seems...thanks guys

No right or wrong way to cut down the PG. many do it stright across, I chose to follow the angle. Careful sanding, then buffing of the bottom will get you an edge for the bottom of the checkering, but again, not everybody does that. Some leave it long all together.

Just do not plan on building very quickly or easily. The stock is going to be a stumbling block. There may be someone here who can help you with the stock, but it takes a lot of work and machining to make the components. They may also be able to machine the handguard cap too. As for the 10" barrel, to be on the safe side, you will need to have one of two things: a registered SBR lower receiver or a dedicated pistol lower receiver. With the FSB, just have the bayo lug cut off. That is what most everyone does. In addition, The PG does not have to be cut down. It just depends on which version of the XM607 you are building. I did not cut mine down. Good luck on the build. Just to let you know, it is taking about 9 months to get a tax stamp these days.

BTW, I already have a register SBR and dedicated AR pistol which allows me to possess a short barrel.

Most of the custom parts or needed gunsmithing can be
Covered by members here .

There is a member here who will be doing a run of. 607 stocks ,
I know ,,, I loaned him mine to template .
He can also make you the muzzle device.

John Thomas can cut your grip off for you.
I think he uses a hose clamp as a cutting template.

There are a few vendors and members here who can
Help you with all the small parts .

The rear hand guard  cap  ...member stonermkiv ( sorry if I got the last part wrong)
Makes some, he does it as a hobby whenever he has spare time
I beleive.  He has one of the nicest most accurate 607s I've seen.

Don't worry,? You have the better part of a year to collect parts

I built a dedicated 22LR 607 style (TSI 607 buttstock assembly) with NON-SBR barrel in April 2013.  She's a great little shooter, cheap to fire and enjoy taking her out to the range.  John Thomas did the barrel work and FSB  mods (smoothed and removed bayo lug).  Details in link below:

Building a dedicated 22LR 607 style rifle

With her bigger 5.56 sister using a fixed 607 style buttstock built for me by "braceman".

Details of fixed 607 style buttstock project:  Faux 607 buttstock project

Added some cut-down pistol grips....

Here's a pic of my Colt 9mm Commando upper with the fixed 607 style buttstock assembly.

Who is looking at doing another run of the stocks, I am in if they are like the ones mypan65 used to make.  I had to sell my stocks two years ago when I needed cash and have regretted it since.

Is the trust route still viable or did you do the personal route?

Morg, the trust route is still viable.  In fact, the efile system was reopened to Form 1 applicants in the past week or so. Efile-ing a Form 1 will most likely be processed months faster than doing a paper filing.
