During my latest project for Building a Faux 607 style dedicated 22LR , I ran across the need for some specialized parts.  I needed 607 style cut-down triangle handguards w/ rear cap, faux 607 moderator and a faux 607 buttstock assembly.  Fellow retro members John Thomas, "jhud" and "braceman" really helped out with the completion of this project.

When contacting "braceman" about making a faux 607 moderator, I asked about the possibility of making a faux 607 style buttstock assembly.  Wow, did he come through!!

"braceman" had a damaged type D stock with some nice mottling to start the project.  I sent "braceman" my buffer tube from my RRA entry length stock assembly and he cut the mottled stock down to the proper length and started the machining of the various parts and pieces.

Here's a few pictures of the parts in their raw metal form.

Stay tuned for additional updates...

The items that "braceman" has produced for me are fantastic and his attention to detail is unbelievable.   He is one heck of an artist on his various machines.

Additional pictures are coming soon showing the anodizing of parts from John Thomas and completed assembly.

Stay tuned...

OK, finally got home.  Sometimes owning a bar is a pain...got some time away & I can have a couple now.

Here's a few pictures of the faux stock assembly parts from "braceman" after anodizing by John Thomas.  I left the RRA entry stock in the pictures just because.

Thanks to all who have assisted me  and added their talents in the progression of this venture.

I'll be attaching the new stock assembly to a lower and upper assembly.  Stay tuned...

I know the RRA LE shock and the model D shocks are different, but would the plate have fit on the RRA LE shorty stock?

I don't think so.  But it could probably be fitted to one with some work.

Speaking of the RRA shorty stocks.  Has anyone tried to re-shaped one into the 607 shape?  Does the idea of reshaping one even work?  With repro 607 stocks being years away at best I'd like to at least have a re-shaped RRA to better resemble a closed 607.  Or is cutting down an A1 the only way to go?

 Wow.....That's like Riunite on ice.

Beautiful mottling on that stock.  Braceman is the latest in a long line of great machinists here.  Some of the best.

Very nice.  Once I move to a free state I want to build a 607.

It looks like a 607.. it would fool me walking by it

Id bet the buttplates can be made to fit the telescoped rod.
