Thanks to the holiday, it's a 3 day week here. Who else is staring down a 4 day weekend? |

Yeah courts are closed Friday along with most law offices and related stuff, insurers, title companies etc. When I was young(er) and first opened my office I used to go in on days like the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve hoping someone would call and I could make some money
 A judge actually called me Christmas eve day one year and asked me to come in and plead some guy out to some BS charge to get rid of it because he was going to Federal Prison "I know you're the only idiot who is in his office this afternoon" |

Yeah we sort of celebrate a holiday where we eat lots of food and see a James Bond movie. We do this at Xmas too. I've worked manufacturing and retail jobs where I had to work on the holiday. Not everyone gets a four day weekend at Thanksgiving. |

Nothing is getting done this week. used to be this whole week was dead, but i see less of that now. now it's fairly active except Thur and Fri. I think with budget problems the courts are more concerned about not having weeks of dead time when they are open but not really doing any work like they did 20 years ago. Hell there were some areas, especially Saratoga Springs around track season, where really the Courts were effectively closed on Fridays in the summer. That was a different time I guess |
And I don't even get paid for Sunday. Salary.
