As I read it, we have from now to end of March to plan an (un)organized ARFCOM shoot and if possible a cookout/potluck??...

We've got the 20 Jan 07 shoot and clean day, so I thought I'd see if anyone is up for doing another shoot like last year's? THAT was a BLAST!!!

Edit: OK, how is 4MAR07 or 18MAR07 looking? AFAIK, I can make it, and camp out that weekend and do some fishing as well

It really does not matter to me--it seems we only have a relatively short window now.

Do you want to do it on the cleanup day or later on in the year?

Lets do the group shoot later and do the clean/shoot and repair on the 20th

Why not have it in the beginning of April instead of the end of March? The ORV trails will be open then too.

As I understand it, the off-roaders will cause the range to close down.

That is not a certainty yet. Please show up for the clean and shoot day.

I have to work weekends now.  Any Sunday would be great.  How about 3-4, or 3-18?

Well any weekend in March is good for me......depending on the weather. I've got a vacation day saved just for this.

Hope we have a big turnout like we did last year.

A later date would be better for those of us coming from further away... reason being,  I like to camp before or after a day at the Uwharrie range. Not that I don't like the cold and got the gear for it but I may be able to get a small 4-5 person group to do the camp-n-shoot thang if the weather is mild.
Either way, settle on a date and post it so we can schedule it in to people's schedules (uh... yea, that made sense).
BTW, I've never been to a cleanup so forgive my ignorance here but does someone pull a pickup or something to the backstop for us to shovel stuff on? Will someone have pitchforks, shovels or other impliments of distruction? Just curious as to what to expect.

Oh yea, if there's going to be a cookout/potluck, if we could get a headcount so we could bring sufficient goodies it would be most helpful.

Sadly I could not make the Feb. 17th Clean and Shoot due to work...  Shame, shame...  Went to the last one was fun though.

Once everyone gets a date settled I'll get the request into work to allow for camping and other fun stuffs....

God bless!

I think I'll let the poll run a few more days, but it looks like the 18th will be the winner.

Can anyone fill me in with the rules and regulations of bringing firearms into Uwharrie, especially since I would probably camp out the night before.  I don't want to get arrested for having an arsenal in my trunk in a national forest.

It's looking like the 18th is definitely the favorite.
I'll be camping out (unless it is threatening non-stop rain) that weekend, and bringing a friend (with a boat! ) who has only shot shotguns-and is dying to try out my AR's and pistols

Now I just gotta find some deals at the fun show tomorrow

I've camped out many times (and hunted), and followed the "general" rules as far as hunting, since there's mostly game lands and Nat'l Forest there--keep it cased and unloaded, you should be just fine, it's what I do.
