I had "Larry the Cable Guy" in it, for fuck's sake!!!

You knew damn well what you were in for when you paid your moneys.
No sympathy from me.

And before anybody starts bitching and moaning, I blew up "army men" for over a decade before joining up. Any red-blooded heterosexual male should find no problem with that opening graphic.

I have a feeling nobody that replied to this thread read the synopsis. It looks like a cute movie, reminiscent of "The Three Amigos."

I thought we were going to discuss Delta Force. You know, the one with Lee Marvin and Chuck Norris.

Can't be any more gayer than "Jarhead".

At least the Army-themed movies are easily identified as farce.
Not so much with "Jarhead" (or "Heartbreak Ridge", for that matter).

Even "retarted" kids can spell "retarded".

Heartbreak Ridge DID have its good moments, though the unit it was based on wasn't a Marine Corps unit. It did make a lot of mistakes, but watching Clint kick ass in a jail was worth it. Jarhead was a pitiful abortion of a movie that tried to be serious but was based on a book by a damn loser.

"A Marine Corps movie based on an Army action" is how I remember it being described.

At least The Army had the good sense to tell Hollyweird to go fuck themselves.
Somebody had to pick up the sloppy seconds.

This reminds me of Pauly Shore's "In the Army Now".

It's so much more fun to overreact and blame the black helicopters and North American Union conspirators.

That is accurate. They did make a slipup in referencing the Ranger unit the movie was really based on (I believe) when Clint was talking abou the pictures hanging on the wall at the bar.
