My 653. 14-1/2" C MP Chrome Bore 1/12 twist. CH upper reciever.
Always wanted one, but couldn't find an original finish 653 upper assembly for a sensible amount.. Tried to use all Colt parts, except for the NDS lower. I cheated a bit though....

Beautiful! Is that a 14 in barrel or 16. I am working on a 654. Mine will have a Gen III stock. I think it will make a decent coyote gun too. Mine will be 16in.

the color is to purdy, needs to be roughed up so there is almost no finish left to look like a real IDF rifle

I thought I could talk myself out of building a 653, but I can see that is now out of the question...

I wanted the IDF look for my 653. Kinda to honor the fact that they are still in active use.
The Israelis improvised the elastic slip over grip for the handguards. Its for better grip. They are un-believably difficult to install. Believe it or not, it would be easier to remove the FSB to install it.
