Quoted: Federal sentencing guidelines offer ridiculous incentives for cooperation and guilty pleas. In effect, one is punished for asserting one's innocence. Also, if you do not have an attorney that is interested if fighting for you, you are screwed. Most here would not understand that. |

Quoted: I had altered ones and un altered ones as well as machine guns. I had said "illegal" machine guns for 20 years.. I never hurt anyone it was just my view that any violation was an illegal order just like in the army if a officer gives you an illegal order you don't follow it. That didn't work out real well for me but that's how far down the 2A rabbit hole I went. I will say they are having trouble dealing with ST's (solvent traps) because there are so many people calling them ALL the time. NON-COMPLANCE on a mass level = how to get rid of the NFA. Just like with weed for the druggie people(no offense to those folks i didn't do that.. you do you) The problem is it will take way more than a village and for people to openly come out instead of waiting for them to reopen the registry.. OH and btw I know lots of people with stuff but I aint gonna be telling anyone about it ... It's actually something in my probation agreement that says I cant.. :) $$$$ worth of my guns were destroyed.. mp5pwd UMP45 240BRAVO Sten UZI Sucks that you got squeezed, but I'm going to point this out again. "In Illinois?" As much as it sucks, we can't have that stuff in this state. I would think the state would be trying to go in dry, but maybe that is part of the squeeze. |

If you had unaltered company products, did you tell the ATF you planned to convert them to illegal silencers and charges stemmed from that? Just looking for some clarification of what you were being accused of, I'm being too lazy to look it up in our database. WTF does "said illegal machine guns" mean? Did you have legal machine guns or illegal machine guns? |

I worked in IT but also as a machinist/gunsmith for over 20 years. You name it I've built it. Quoted: This... Are you a legal technical expert? if so what qualifications do you posess? I could say "im god, you all do what i say" in court, it doesnt make it so unless ive got some backing(a lightning bolt shooting hand, halo, and water walking son) |

State did try but the feds told them back off this is my boy and you can't have him... Quoted: I agree there's a lot of missing pieces here but I think you're underestimating the federal system. To complicate things further, it may have been the only way for a father of young children to guarantee a non-prison resolution. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: I may be confused but wasnt DM working under a previous ruling or communication from the ATF that parts (especially undrilled baffles, end caps, and random threaded tubes) are not suppressors? Was DM selling more than that? People filed\received form 1s and made silencers with those traps\parts. Those people emailed DM, with info to improve traps\parts for form 1 use. DM made those improvements. People continued making Form 1s. ATF came out with interpretation; any part or combination of parts used or intended to be used in manufacturing a silencer is a silencer. Everything, in and of itself, is a silencer. I get the Feds and their bullying but unless DM had company documents and recordings saying "hey were are intentionally circumventing laws" a decent lawyer should have been able to get them off. I get that you get punished for the fight, but I am still confused here, especially on how the OP went down. Too much missing information. If they were selling pre-drill baffles along with the emails you mentioned - I can see them toeing the line, but otherwise this is just a bunch of continued fuckery from the Feds. I agree there's a lot of missing pieces here but I think you're underestimating the federal system. To complicate things further, it may have been the only way for a father of young children to guarantee a non-prison resolution. Pretty sure there were texts between the owner of DM an another individual discussing how Chris' solvent traps could be better manufactured to end up as more effective silencers. |

Hey man I would of but it wasn't my business take that up with Chris. He's about to be sentenced also but charged with 1000's of them. I was charged with 7. Quoted: So you threw solvant traps under the bus cause you didn't want to get the punishment for your MGs you had? Am I understanding that right? Don't throw other people under the bus when the consequences of your own actions come knocking. That's the most hypocritical part. He said he didn't see them as illegal because of the 2nd ammendment... just like how how you don't have to follow an unlawful order in the military (his words)... and when it comes time to actually make that point in a courtroom, where it really matters, he takes a plea deal. |

Quoted: Pretty sure there were texts between the owner of DM an another individual discussing how Chris' solvent traps could be better manufactured to end up as more effective silencers. The term "Firearm Silencer" or "Firearm Muffler" means any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for the use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication. Only the part in bold matters. If I'm selling something that can be used for purposes other than silencer parts and cannot in its current form be used as a silencer part it doesn't matter that if I make it so it will work really well as a silencer part after the end user modifies it. |

Quoted: So you threw solvant traps under the bus cause you didn't want to get the punishment for your MGs you had? Am I understanding that right? Don't throw other people under the bus when the consequences of your own actions come knocking. He cannot throw ALL solvent traps under the buss. He can only throw the ones he possessed and ADMITTED he intended to manufacture silencers from. He can testify what he discussed or was aware of at work. That can make THOSE solvent traps INTENDED for use as silencers. His testimony does not have any evidential value in determing the intention of anybody else who owns a solvent trap. |

Thats was pure tardnation. Thats as bad as having a business that that makes tiny spoon containers for snuff. Only to have them stored at home with coke, and 12 kilos in the closet. Then in your moment to pure stupidity, double down and prove that they were never were for snuff, to get the 12k coke charges dropped. WOW just wow. |

Quoted: I knew it was more than just the solvent traps. They were looking for a way to leverage someone into that testimony. They found this guy with unregistered machine guns and now everyone else gets to deal with it. Quoted: Quoted: Sounds like sending him to prison for 40 years was the threat. Having never been in position to do life in prison, I can’t judge OP. Insurmountable odds. Eta: well, After OPs last post he’s just a criminal who snitched on everyone. There was certainly more to the story, regardless if you agree with machine gun laws or not. I knew it was more than just the solvent traps. They were looking for a way to leverage someone into that testimony. They found this guy with unregistered machine guns and now everyone else gets to deal with it. That makes sense. I wish the NFA didn’t exist but what I tell people all the time about homemade illegal shit is this…”Is owning one of those things worth 10 years in prison?” OP decided to flex on the feds by owning multiple unregistered MG’s and silencers while working for a small company that was selling shit guaranteed to bring the man into his life. They came in, saw his toys, and knew they had their stoolie. OP’s the king of bad decisions and fucked the rest of us as a consequence. |

NOW the real issue is THEY COULD STILL CHARGE ME! thats why i cant poke the bear anymore in this thread. i'm risking myself warning folks as it is! So you freely admit you were a criminal and righteously charged? Its hard to make out if your asking for some sort of absolution, or just trying to position yourself for future work as a confidential informant to hold off threatened State charges. |

Didn't this sorta happen with FRT's recently? We get a story about the AFT going door to door for FRT's, but what we found out is that some dude had 38 GLOCK SWITCHES and 4 FRT's getting hemmed up and squeezed to call the FRT's machine guns in the charges. I'm thinking the 38 Glock switches might have had something to do with the arrest. |

Quoted: Ok so good lucky with the rest of the thread and feel free to flame me.. I know I DID for a long time standing up on a bucket with a noose around my own neck in my garage. Dude.. You actually took it that far over the mere possibility of 5 years in the feds... Prison is not a death sentence and not like the movies. You've got a family. Toughen up and continue to stand on your feet like a man. It's commendable you're hanging in there and but do not ever go down the path of choosing a permanent solution to a temporary mistake. |

Quoted: Is this a deal where you got caught with a bunch of unregistered NFA stuff and testified that solvent traps are suppressors in exchange for a lighter set of charges? Seems that way.....which is total crap and bad on the OP. On the flip side, OP is in Illinois, and I'm sure that there are tons of Chicago bangers getting getting caught with illegally owned handguns with Glock switches that the Feds basically ignore. |

Quoted: Nick Logan here Convicted Customer Service Rep for DM. I was convicted of Conspiracy to Manufacturer Firearms and Deal in Firearms without a license. Two things: ATF and DOJ AUSA'S consider DIVERSIFIED MACHINE solvent traps silencers based on my testimony ABOUT COMPANY POLICIES / DISCUSSIONS ETC. I can't explain until limitations expire on how that came to be please read between the lines.. 5 years.. I almost fell on my own sword for our cause but I had the forethought to see if I did it would have been for nothing. I also about killed myself too this has been a really hard road. They are willing to break all the rules/law and not play by them to win. Two: ATF lead agent told me" At least we didn't shoot your dog". I have a family am a father and it was coop or 40+ years. No one at my company knew or thought this was illegal but according to "them" it is. There was no need for an armed SWAT team in the highest level body armor they have to enter my home like they did. I took the remote job a part-time job. I'm IT. 3 years probation with an 18-month sentence so if I'm violated I get 5 years. I'm a family man I have children and a wife. We are normal people! I'm on probation and have to be careful what I say so I hope you all understand. DIVERSIFIED MACHINE Solvent Traps, FRT triggers ect anyone who owns them and they have DOCUMENTED evidence that you do via credit card, money orders ect they will come after you. Please don't have them at your house like I did thinking they were legal... I ONLY WORKED FOR DM FOR 3 MONTHS in 2019.. They were open since 2017 with website. My raid took place May of 2021 #Extortion OP if you had added the bits above in red, it would be more accurate. The ATF regard solvent traps sold by DM ( not all solvent traps ) as "intended" for silencer use as a result of your "testimony". My guess - the bit you say you cannot talk about - is the R and D done by staff at DM. I bet it was 100% aimed at making the best silencer and 0% related to making it better at trapping solvents. So ATF now regard DM solvent traps as DESIGNED with that purpose in mind. |
