Most people have a "reloading cat" or "reloading dog".

From the Wiki on "Vogel's Pit Viper":

Their venom varies in toxicity between species, but all are primarily hemotoxic and considered to be medically significant to humans. One nickname for this snake among locals is "100 pace snake" in reference to the legend that, once bitten, a person can walk 100 more steps before dropping dead.

Jesus.

I am NOT coming to your house you can bank on it!

BTW nice photo in the background!

You sir are awesome for doing some research. I've had her and her "man" since they were 4" babies in 2008.

I keep many different species of venomous snakes. My "Man-cave" consist of all my snakes, ammunition, and reloading bench. Oddly, the wife loves them.

Yes I am.  There's an in-line (6") high velocity exhaust fan/system that ducts the air directly outside above the lead pots.

FWIW - I have been casting my own bullets in similar spaces to supply my competitive BP shooting without an exhaust system for the last 35 years.  Since 2005 I have had a lead test as part of my yearly blood work.  Nada

YMMV

I have that Lowes bench, it pretty nice. I put an rcbs base plate on left end and a vise on right end and use it for single stage press and trimmer. Gunvise on bench top and smithing tools on the peg board. I added a hasp and pad lock to the top for primer storage.

Biggest thing is the bench top. Its shitty particle board that flexes with a little torque from resizing cases. I fixed it with to 2x12" boards held together with 2x4s underneath. Trim the corners to fit and g2g. Get some white wall panel board for a white workspace top so you can see what you're doing. The built in light and power strip are very nice. Oh and put some rubber drawer liner in the drawers so your stuff doesn't slide everywhere.

My bench is just about finished still want to add a couple of cabinets or shelves up top and a light of some sort. Also my friend is making me an aluminum skin that will cover the top and back-splash with one piece so clean ups will be a breeze and I wont dent the wood or stain it with Hoppes #9 when I clean the toys. Still haven't decided if I'm going to put a wood stain or clear coat on it.

getting started

the top 3 2x12s 6ft long

Legs are 4x4s with 2x4 bracing

sheet of plywood on the lower shelf

My Nephew sanding...it's amazing the labor you can get for a 12er of PBR

I'm stepping off into a new venture. I wanted a small workstation to roll around while doing the small stuff like depriming maybe some pistol reloading then I said what the hell, go for broke. With so many people asking about small time reloading, apartments, storage, tumbling and so on I thought why not build one to serve everything that I just wrote. I think I can do it all with the size of about a foot print of 2 ft square X 31 high or there about's. I don't use plans, I just dream as I go along. I mean all of it including storage but in small amounts. I started it but as I'm on six days a week it'll be slow going. I'll make a full write up but it'll be a few months, sorry, kids and all before ARF.com. Here where she is at the moment (as of today). About 75 % of the frame is done.

Hi Dryflash,

I always finish the insides, its in the details and all that. I haven't decided on the top yet (or a new Si vis expression I always raise letter on my stuff). That will be the last part of it as I need it open for now to work on the interior. If you look close at the uprights, you'll see they have been dadoed. That will be for the sides back walls which I also intend to build doors for and shelving. The picture is the minis, or super minis front. The top section, forward part, I want to build a spillway for dry tumbling media and also a spent primer drop tube. Thats where a removable press will sit. I'm sure I can also use the cavity for other mounts say for knife sharping and so on. The rest of the top section will be more storage and I'll hinge the top for access. What remains of the interior between the uprights will be for a nano tumbler and the media, accessible from the back. I'll also build a removable extension as in my main desk, that will sit at a comfortable angle (between 45 and 22 degrees, need to wait to decide) for more space if needed. I still need to finish the frames bottom outriggers. The outriggers will be 2X6's under the frame perpendicular to the front. They will keep it from tipping and give me a place for the castors and a drop down shelf for a catch bucket from the spill way.

That's what I have floating around my head for now. I'm never quite sure as I don't write it down or use plans. I have been snapping images this time as I go along. I'm trying to use the most simplest of tools and or supply an alternative way to do things as in the dado so that those interested can build it or something similar at a friends house if necessary. The power tools can be just a drill, circular saw, maybe a saber saw.

Anyway, thats what I got. As I said, my time is very limited now so I hope no one is holding their breath waiting for the final. Hopefully in a few months.

Peace.
T.

Just added a pair of Akro bin mounts to my portable reloading stand. They're made from Ace Hardware corner brackets (inside) 2.5" x .75".

The bins snugly snap in and out. Recently added were a pair of chest handles.

Just finished my bench, well almost finished. I still need to attach the peg board, some plywood on the lower shelf and lag bolts (3.5" deck screws for now). Dimensions are 7'Lx36"Dx44"H, I am 6'8" so it is built to my specs...lol. I'm debating on some type of top for ease of cleanup, the 2x6's will get pretty dirty if left alone. I noticed some 3/16" hardboard at Home Depot, may just buy a sheet of that.

My bench was built in 1997, it has held up well, and wont stain like hardboard.

I believe they also make thinner sheets.

Thanks! I think my favorite feature is the T track, what a fantastic idea whoever the first to think of it was. I had my concerns about rigidity before i installed it but that stuff is solid. I also stood on the bench while I was  installing the top shelves. No give or flex whatsoever. Didn't even creak. Quite pleased with it.

Being my daughter is getting bigger, She now has my old "Larger" room and I have hers.  I went from a sturdy table, to a custom made bench.  I think I won in this room trade. All 2x6 and 4x4 were used,

cause they were free. It took one good weekend to complete the benches, and another weekend to move all my stuff back in. Still a work in progress as far as putting things away.  Maybe some more

shelves in the future.

Lets see if anyone can tell me what top I went with.  I've look through this thread and could not find anyone that has used it before.  I like it so far.

And Yes,  Paint is next on the list to get.

Large bench is 11.6ft x 2ft at 40in high.  The side desk is 56in x 24in at 29in high.

Updated picture of my setup. Now 12 calibers and over 180,000rds produced on a 6'x2' bench. Being organized and keeping your bench clean is the key with limited space.

The wall on the left above holds my military types. The 2 horizontal rifles are retired while the vertically mounted ones are used. BTW, my basement is secured so I feel comfortable displaying my firearms in the open.

Wow! Looks like a lot of weight on both the desk and TV Cabinet from the bow in both. Or is the desk just bowed from from all of the work done on it?
