Gentlemen,   Michigan just legalized cans yesterday.  I am now looking to suppress the SCAR.  The main situation is we are still non SBR.

I need suggestions from guys that are running cans already.

I would like to keep the OAL reasonable, (as stated starting out with 16" barrel).

Lots of good shorty cans out there now. Surefire Mini/Micro, AAC Mini4 are the best out there at the moment if you're trying to keep the length down while still being QD.

Congrats on getting suppressors legalized.

I use a Surefire FA556AR suppressor on mine at the moment. It will be my 556-212 can when the Form 1 comes back.

that's awesome....if they legalize SBRs I might be able to consider moving back there someday...

I currently run a SF 556AR on mine as well

I also want some advice for my scar. I want an AAC and a guy I have been talking to said the one I want isnt offered to civies any longer. The AAC SCAR H suppressor. Anyone know if they would sell to individual LEOs?

You don;t want the old AAC SCAR suppressors... they use the crappy old 18T mounts.  If you have to have an AAC suppressor, get one with the new 51T mounts.

I use a Gemtech G5 on mine and am vary happy.  It's about as quiet as a 5.56 can gets, it's got a good compromise in size and weight, and the I like the QD system.  It has a consistent (and small) POI shift.

But any of the top can makers will satisfy... AAC, YHM, Gemtech, Surefire.... just pick the one with the features you like best. Don't get wrapped up around metering numbers.  Your ear will not detect small  differences.  The top cans all suppress well, and are quiet (for a 5.56 can).

I run a Gemtech Halo on mine. It was a bit heavy before I SBRed my SCAR, but was do-able.

I am using the Surefire FA556-212 can on my SCAR and I really like it so far.  Stephen101st uses the Gemtech G5 and in a side by side comparison there is NO discernable difference in sound reduction between the two.

Cheers

I use an AAC SPR/M4.  It's a hearing safe can and recoil is reduced to nearly nothing in 5.56mm.
