Just ordered a HSGI Sure-Grip belt and a BlackHawk CQB rigger's belt. Going to set it up with existing TT and FastMag mag pouches, IFAK, etc.

I've always trained with a TT MAV (or just with an Ares belt setup), so I'm really looking forward to my first war belt.

the suregrip is a great belt, especially for us northern guys because its not as hot as other places in the country... well today and yesterday... but yeah, the surgegrip and fastmags is a sweet recipe imo

I've worn my Sure Grip Belt hiking in AZ in the spring and summer and heat build up was not a problem. Having a belt that actually stays put greatly increases comfort, too.

I don't know about you, but I don't sweat much at all around my waist, and there's so little surface area actually covered by the belt that heat retention is just not an issue.

So I would like to put a rifle mag on my belt, however I wear an IOTV, so I don't have a lot of space between the bottom of the soft armor and my beltline, especially while seated.  I was looking at the ESSTAC single rifle with dual pistol mags stacked on top, but I'm concerned that it would put the mag up a bit high.  Any thoughts?

I have one of those with two rifle and two pistol Tacos. It works great and keeps everything level with or beneath the top of the belt.

Mine stays put even if I go prone. If you have no hips whatsoever, look into suspenders, but that's going to apply to any belt.

That's what I was thinking about.  I was also looking for some way to attach it to the under belt like belt keepers.

I use an offset mount from G Code coupled with an RTI plate on the pouch. Blade Tech makes another good one

I found that a belt with a taco, with a 20 round pmag with magpul made a great "oh shit" belt mag that didn't fuck with my IOTV.

You could also use longer malice clips to give it a 1 or 2 inch drop below the belt.

The moduloaders do look pretty legit, but a lot of the pictures look like they would drop them to low for my taste, and I would also like to be able to run it onto a molle belt... Not a necessity, as I could probably use any kind of competition or duty belt for what I want to have, which is only 1 rifle with 2 pistol on top, pistol, a multi-tool, a TQ, and my e&e pouch (Beacon, water tablets, 2 clif shots, and some cash... The main purpose is just to carry the mandatory beacon somewhere not in my pocket or on my vest. The SKD poguey pouch looks just about perfect.)  Oh, and my dump pouch because rip-its.  I have had the set up on my Suregrip (with USGI pouches rather then the ESSTAC), and it is more comfortable for all day, everyday wear then a police belt.

Anyways, can you adjust which hole the belt loops attach into on the moduloader?  It looks like that is what the holes are for, but then  it looks like the belt loops are rivetted in place.

The belt loops are fixed sizes and they can't be removed... as you guessed, they're riveted and permanent. I have mine mounted on a Volund micro battle belt, but I had to use a heat gun to re-shape the loops so they'd fit... it was a pain, but they aren't going to move

I also used it mounted on the inner belt of an HSGI Slimline belt. It worked, but it stretched the outer belt a lot since it was mounted underneath it. I wouldn't use that as a permanent solution.

It should really be used on a duty-style or riggers belt vs a bigger battle belt. I'd also really like a Molle version, it would make it a lot more flexible.

As for the drop, the top of a 30rd PMAG is right in line with the top of my belt. Keeps them perfectly out of the way of my PC.

Here's my home defense belt. It's still in the works. It's a Volund Gearworks Micro Belt; Fenix light; 2 BFG 10 speed pouches; a CMS Gear Mini Dump Bag; Raven Concealment kydex holster; Allen shotshell pouch (10 shells). I'm not sure if i like the placement of the flashlight, but so far I like the belt as it is a relatively low profile pistol and/or shotgun capable setup. I'm probably going to get a low profile IFAK, maybe HSGI, to put behind between the holster and the dump. Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks.

Shot with my new belt for the first time today. Do any of you guys have any suggestions for anchoring my shooting belt to my regular belt? I just shoot in jeans. Pulling my mags was fine but the belt would come up a little too much when drawing my pistol.

Best option quoted above for sure. Though I do not have the velcro I just run my belt below my pant belt line and snug it up. It moves a little if I run a lot in it.

Lot's of people use the velcro inner belts so I'm sure it;s gtg.
I was just never a fan of velcro.

My battle belt if you want to call it that, ( it may not be one since it doesn't use the molle belt ) is just a Tactical Taylor green duty belt with HSGI Taco's and and  Maxpedition dump pouch.
Held up by OSOE belt keepers.

I liked my HSGI belts (had both the original and the Slimline) but after a while it got to where they'd ride up every time I sat down or ended up in an awkward position. I switched to the Volund belt with an inner and it works great. BUT, I also got an HSGI liner which allows me to wear the Volund belt like a regular war belt as well, in case I need to throw it on over outer layers

Ok so I have a question! I'm going away from a chest rig in favor of a belt set up after I used a buddies for a class. My question is how would you compare the vickers brokos to the hsgi belt and why?

Riggers belt with a MOLLE attachment?  I have a two-piece belt setup for USPSA/3Gun competitions but don't think this set-up would work well for this.

For pouches on the belt, would having two HSGI double decker tacos work well or would that cause the pistol mag to be too far off the body?

What else should I have on the belt besides a holster and mag pouches, I assume just an IFAK and a dump pouch?

Did he say the HSGI setup was just as expensive as the low pro one he had that was $450?

I like that set up.  In a polite and professional way, can I ask the approximate waste size?   I'm working on my belt (36") and trying to effectively package everything.
