A local dealer said he ordered 4 and they should be in this week .As soon as I have one in my hands I am buying the U.S made parts to make it legal to install a full length tube.

Unless someone has better suggestions I will get the 3 parts from Freedom Fighter tactical, full length tube, follower & forend.

Any and all M4 info appreciated.

At least you understand the 922(r) requirements...a lot of people assume there are none and mod away.

Assuming non-collapsing stock, yes, 3 US parts req'd.

How are "Daves Metal Works" tubes? I see they are half the price as FFT.

I am too paranoid to risk going to prison for a hobby.

I have been thinking about purchasing an M4 for a couple years now.  I was getting ready to pick one up recently when I heard about the M4-H2O. It already comes with all the goodies we had to have done to the regular M4 but also comes NP3 coated.  Sure, the sticker shock got me at first but when you add up everything, it seems like a wash.

Another 922(r) part you could replace is the hammer.  Geissele makes one.

Would you recommend the hammer over one of the other parts?

I heard the new FFT parts are better then the Geissele.

I have the FFT parts in my Benelli. They're nice, and they did reduce the trigger pull, but I read some reports on the Benelli USA Forum
that they show signs of wear very quickly. I have only put about 400 rounds through mine with the FFT parts in it, so I can't comment
on the additional wear to the hammer.

ETA here's a link to the thread. Scroll about halfway down to post 57 to see pictures.
My hammer doesn't show any wear marks, so maybe he just got a bad one.

There are reports of the FFT hammer becoming dinged or marred where it strikes the firing pin.  No problems/issues other than the marring, but it's a little disheatening.

That is why I said just heard, I haven't tried it out since I don't own an M4.  That is unfortunate though, hopefully FFT is taking care of people who have bought that kit from them.

If you want the best in terms of 922(r) parts, do the following;
1. carriercomp Full Length Titanium Magazine Tube
2. carriercomp Magazine Follower (Comes with the tube)
3. carriercomp/Geiselle Hammer
4. FFT Trigger
5. FFT Disconnector

I have both the FFT and the carriercomp/Geiselle Hammer. I find the fit of the carriercomp hammer to be superior. The FFT will work, but it does mar up quickly. The barrel of the cam pin is looser on the FFT than the carriercomp unit as well.

The FFT trigger/disconnector does provide for a better trigger pull.

I talked to the guy at the gun shop who actually handles ordering the Benellis. He said they would only let him order 3 and he had 5 guys wanting one and could not promise me getting one so I bought a new one online. I paid a slight premium but no other dealer within 1-1/12 drive that i checked with had one.

I just ordered the FFT follower, FFT forend and a DMW full tube.

That should cover me for being 922r complaint, corrrect?

Is removing the tube with a heat gun & strap wrench fairly easy?  Any real risk of messing up the finish on the receiver?

When I removed the tube on mine, it went easier than expected.  I used a heat gun and focused most heat mainly on the tube, not the receiver.  I held the receiver in a vise between two wood blocks.  I only used enough pressure to hold it (don't squeeze).  The loctite will smoke a little before the tube starts to rotate.  The tube will rotate a little then stop.  Keep appying heat.  After it smokes a little again, try to turn it again.  I had to repeat this process about six time to get it out.  I would NOT recommend using any type of wrench to remove or install a tube.  You will run the risk of too much torque.  On the finish, mine did not show any sings of discoloration.  The gas system will hea his area up quite a bit after repeated mag dumps.  Never had a problem.

I didn't lie

The US forend is installed and the US tube and follower are sitting here waiting for me to get the nerve ( and heatgun ) to install.

I also bought 175rd ammo can of the federal 00 buckshot from the dealer who did the transfer and ordered 250 Winchester full power 1oz slugs from SGammo

I went with the carrier comp ti mag tube( still waiting on it  about 1 week out) , us made follower, fft handguards and also an urbino tactical fixed stock. Gives me a total of four replaced us made parts... One extra just in case

I'm about to pull the trigger on some parts.  But I am getting rid of the pistol grip and going with the field stock.

I went with the carrier comp tube. It's the most rigid ti tube on the market, and since the mag tube is what the front barrel hanger interfaces with via pressure from the mag cap, I wanted the most rigid tube on the market. The carrier comp tube is about 30grams heavier than the fft tube (about the same weight as 2 .45 acp projectiles), and I will never notice it. Cost less, too.

I went with the geissele hammer. They are established and top notch. Fft won't say who makes their fcg parts.

Got my M4 all together this past week.  I a finally 922r compliant with the stock.

Carrier Comp Ti Tube w/ US follower and Wolf spring

FFT Bolt handle (3/4" Ti)

Factory collapsible stock

Geissele Hammer

GG&G bolt release pad

FFT Trigger

FFT Disconnector

I am still debating if I want a shell carrier and new sights.
