So on recommendation from several friends I put a "pink recoil spring" from Grey Guns in my P226. Now the slide is not locking back after the last round is fired. It will lock back in an empty magazine when moving the slide by hand, but not after shooting it.

Some have suggested I should put new, higher power springs in my magazines. Has anyone else had this issue and have new magazine springs solved the problem?

P226 9mm....... OEM SIG SAUER  Orange spring; don't bother with aftermarket springs, SIG springs are excellent.

Thank your friends for their kind advice and put the proper recoil spring back into your P226; orange if it's 9mm and green if it's a .40S&W or .357 SIG.

You can also tell your friends  that the pink spring  from Gray Guns is a heavy duty, +P spring.

You can shoot +P from time to time while using the regular SIG OEM springs that your pistol is designed to use, but they will also allow your pistol to function perfectly well with standard pressure ammunition as well.

I buy my springs from Top Gun Supply; terrific company, especially for SIG parts and nothing but original SIG Springs go into any of my SIGs all of which have been 100% reliable.

OP - do you still have the original recoil spring?  If so, does the slide still lock back on the same mag when fired?  If It does, I kinda doubt the mag spring is the issue, and I kinda doubt the high power spring is going to solve the pink spring's problem.  But then again, springs is cheap....in for the solution

Thanks all. I'll order a new orange spring.

Does Top Gun have some other shipping option I don't see? $9.95 shipping for a $14.95 spring.

Try the coupon code FREESHIP, they were offering free shipping over the weekend, maybe they still are.

And make sure you are ordering the correct spring, I believe it's 12.95; you do not want the spring for the 226 X - 5.

IM sent.

I ordered the spring and the FREESHIP coupon worked like charm.

Thanks all for the advice and the code.
