Looking hard at the Ameriglo i-Dots /Hack front.

Any suggestions on yellow versus green for the rear?

I prefer yellow rear and green front.  In the dark, the front sight really stands out compared to the rear sight.

WOAH very nice! How's it been working out for you at the range? Fast target aquisition?

its fast, but the 45 recoil makes quick follow-ups a little difficult do to my small hands.  this setup puts the impact right at the top of the front sight @ 25 yards.

Really liking the look of the ameriglo sights.  Can anyone tell me how they hit as far as POA/POI as opposed to 6 o'clock?  I am looking at either the complete hackathorn set up, a hack front with an i dot rear, or a hack front with a pro or operator rear but I cannot handle a 6 o'clock hold on my sights.

A few pics of my Heine Slant Pros on my G17. For punching paper I do not like dots or anything distracting me. Blacked out works best for me. They are a little taller than the original sights, which was different at first, but now its fine.

At arms length:

Ameriglo GC-65R-180 rear sight

Ameriglo GG-112-115OR front sight

I paid $20 for this setup shipped.  If you call they'll send non-H3 sights for $2.50.  I think if you click on the red product numbers a stock photo will pop up.

This photo is a little hard to see, but it shows the most real to life front sight to rear space ratio.  The front sight is a bit thinner in the picture above than in real life.

Yes, I have the Yellow/Green on my Gen4 19. I'm a jerk for not putting up pics and a review. I can get pics up tomorrow.

Quick review: they are fast! And sexy. And I love the U-shaped rear sight with the subdued sights on them. I cannot compare them to any of the super-high speed sights, since I've never owned anything other than standard Trijicon night sights.

I'm interested to see this as well. I've been wanting to replace the standard sights on my gen4 19. Thanks for the quick review.

I have a Gen4 Glock 30 SF that hits 3"low at 10 yards. I'm thinking about the Hackthorn front, but what will give me the propper rear height for POA?

The orange in the front sight is photo-luminescent which, means you can charge it with a light and have the bright orange donut along with the tritium. Great sights!

G19 with Meprolight Tru Dots.

Pics are a bit deceptive as I held the camera closer to the sights than my eye would normally be. At full arm extension, all 3 dots appear the same size.

Sorry about the pic quality, for the time being, I'm limited to the camera on my iphone 3GS.

Next time you go to the range, you should shoot a full-size silloutte target at 8' with the front dot in the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o-clock positions within that ring. I'd love to see what the accuracy cone of that ring is with the dot out of alignment but still visible within the ring.

Give me some time, I just put a yellow set on my G33. I really can't tell a difference in brightness between the orange vs. yellow, they are just different.

That's what I have on mine.  The yellow rear was cheaper.  I have never thought about the color difference, but the I-dots are great!

Trijicon (and others) can be found at www.opticsplanet.com for decent prices.

AmeriGlo sights are at www.ameriglo.com.

That should get you started.

Truglo TFOs on Glock 19, extremely bright sights. I was disappointed that the front sight screw is long therefore the front sight wiggles. Truglo said they are sending me a shorter replacement screw that will make sure it snugs up nice and tight. As soon as that happens I'll give you guys a range report too. They are by far the brightest sights I have ever used, from full day to full dark they are hands down the brightest!

My tfo's were like that. Take a small file and file it down slowly.  That snugged mine up.

That's exactly what I ended up doing while waiting for the replacement screw. Now I have a spare screw to use if I ever need it lol.

Kinda liking the looks of the Ameriglo Pro Operator sights and was wondering if anyone has installed them with  the MGW rear sight tool?  IF so, what model is used?  The one for the straight or the slanted model?

Thanks

I just installed a set of Pro Operators on a Glock 19 using the MGW # 309 GLK tool, worked like a charm.  Love the sights too.

i believe so, my calipers are packed away in storage right now but i think that's all they offer for the competition front, this pic was takes about a foot from the gun, it doesn't look this narrow at arms length, shot my first match with them today and i gotta say i love these sights, the picture is so crisp/clear i couldn't be happier

Standard shitty pics to follow....

Ameriglo, the front is the GL-212-OR orange square with green Tritium and the rear is GL-229-OP-R Pro Operator with yellow tritium.  Even my wife enjoys the orange front post more.  I had the serrated rears that came with the orange square fronts, but I could not confidently line up the front sight to the rear notch in the dark.  I could turn the pistol too far left or too far right and still see the front sight fine.
ETA I put these on with red loctite on the front and a MGW #309 GLK rear sight pusher(the one from Brownells is all black and comes with a sweet front sight tool/takedown tool).

Here are the ones on my wife's G27

I have 500 rounds through this G19 EXO, it's time to make it my daily CCW. So I installed some AmeriGlo I-Dot Pro's on her. (GL-201). I haven't shot with them on there yet, but so far, I like the looks over the stock sights, and even my Hack sights I have on my other Glocks... I will add a range report after I get through a few hundred rounds with these sights installed. *Range Report!* Today, I went to an indoor range that has very sketchy lighting, and let me tell you, this orange dot is freaking amazing. It was easy to pick up, my eye was just drawn to this thing. An over great improvement over stock glock sights (obviously), I also noticed that follow up shots were a tad quicker then normal, as I could keep track of the front post better. Distance shooting did not change either, I saw no accuracy differences out to 25 yards.

The only down side I can see from the actual product? They are "tall" sights. Also, my retarded ass installed the front sight not completely straight (Most people probably couldnt tell), although, the gun is still POA/POI, and its already lock tighted, so I don't really care. I think they are the bee's knees!
