Anyone know if the new Gen4's are shipping with the beavertail backstrap Glock displayed at SHOT last year?

Or if it's available at all?

Thinking about a Gen4 G23 but want with beavertail.

And please spare me your "i've fired 1,000,000 rds & never saw a need for a beavertail...yada yada" comments.

Already have a Gen 1 G22 & a Gen 3 35 so I know they definitely tear up the web of my hand. Had a Robar beavertail put on one & using a CCF frame on the other.

I don't believe there were any 1st gen G22s.  How about a pic?

Instead of waiting and hoping for Glock to get it together, I recently added a $25 Gripforce Adapter to my Gen 3 G20/21L because I bought a 1911 last March and find that now that I'm
switching between 1911s and Glocks the different grip angle causes some
'relearning' time which I'd just as soon avoid.  I've never had a 'slide bite' issue with my Glock but the GFA would certainly eliminate that problem if it plagues you.  The GFA goes on in 2
minutes and seems to work great.  The package came with extended trigger pins (yes, more than 1 so you have extras to play with) that fix the GFA solidly to your Glock.
Custom G20/21L with std grip and Hogue HandAll:

Custom G20/21L with Gripforce Adapter installed under my Hogue HandAll:

Note how the GFA eliminates the 'hump' in the Glock's grip by filling in
the upper grip area making the Glock grip much more like my 1911's.

Overall, I'm quite happy with the GFA on my Glock.  So much so that I also put one on my custom G24.

I also posted a review of the GFA and my initial impressions shooting with it HERE.

Reminds me of some of the cars people pimp out at Autozone.

A done right factory beavertail would be great for people who have their hands torn up by the slide.

I'm thinking of trying out a Glock. I'll probably try the GFA until Glock releases the factory beavertail grip.

Not bad looking. I like those way more than the grip force ones..
