I have some MI products for the AR and they are very good. Now we need to know what fits the Veprs. Not my job to go out and measure and hope I get it right. Does the hand guard fit the heavy barrel? If you want me to pony up cash tell me what fits or if I can return it for a full refund.
|
|
|
Now we need to know what fits the Veprs
Nothing for veprs. I can't get anything for my vepr front, back, top, or bottom. |

Just received an extended version in the mail today for my Arsenal SGL 31. I didn't realize the sling mount would have to be removed in order to make this work Now I just have to figure out how to remove the gas block and front sight unless you guys know of a better way.
Edited... On second thought, I may just want to cut off the front sling mount so I don't have to worry about screwing up the front sight post. I believe the bottom rail will fit as long as I just cut off the sling attachment section and not the entire piece. Any thoughts on this route? |

Ended up needing to grind away the majority of the sling mount in order to make it fit properly. Pictures coming soon. |

Troy, any plans on making a barrel clamp for the larger barrels? I think the saiga 308 and vepr are pretty close in size. Would love to have these guards for them.
|
|
|
We may look into these. I need to get caught up on the existing parts running and finish some other projects . Thanks. Troy. Mi.

Problems installing Extended SS Rail on AMD-65.
I ground off the sling loop. I leveled the area and contoured it with a file. I even removed the paint from the handguard retainer. When I tighten the barrel clamp the rail slopes noticably down towards the reciever. It appears as if the handguard retainer is causing the problem. Am I doing something wrong or does the AMD-65 require a shim of some sort? |

I had to to remove about 1/4" from the bottom edge of the retainer in addition to the entire sling loop portion. |

I just installed mine. After finding that it wouldn't clear by just removing the sling loop, I simply cut the whole retainer off. The hardest part of the installation for me, was leveling the handguard to the receiver. I'm kinda OCD when it comes to this sort of thing & it took several tries. Damned Starrett levels!

Does anyone have pictures of or know if you can use the Ultimak railed gas tube w/ the MI extended lower rail?

Hi, any plans on making the SS available for the Yugos? Thanks.

Due to the low Yugo volume no. If it increases in the future we will revisit. Thanks. Troy. Mi.

The key to this market is to make it work with most all the guns even though they have huge tolerance differences. THANKS TROY MI It is true that one must consider the amount of flex in a mount that long Troy, this is why the VFR-AK is manufactured from 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum alloy for Maximum Strength and was Tested Under Extreme Conditions, Maintains Zero-retention . As can be seen in the video attached: VFR-AK Presentation The VFR-AK is widely used, mainly in European countries and by several leading optics manufacturers, military organizations ans special-forces around the globe. So far there was not even a single unsatisfied costumer, due to the fact that the VFR-AK is most commonly used for mounting of high-grade optics & night-vision aids, all with much lower tolerance than our mount. Therefore in order to risk damaging the extended upper half, one must first critically damage any optics that were mounted on it. Kind regards, Ariel FAB-Defense |

I'm very happy with my AK-SS. Easy to install and get straight.
However, I would not run this thing without insulating gloves, a VFG, or rail covers, because it gets damned hot really quick. It was extremely uncomfortable to hold the handguard after a couple magazines. This isn't a knock against the AK-SS in particular, just an observation. I think it would be rally nice to get some sort of screw-in covers for this handguard to help deal with heat insulation,,, maybe half-length and full-length. Just an idea. |

Thanks for the input. For those with heat sensitive hands we will have a awesome option for this product in the near future. Thanks. Troy. Mi.

I like it. Haven't read the whole thread, but I'd like either a 2 piece upper or a slot that allows removal of the gas tube.
Any chance you'll offer this for the Mini Draco? Or too few imported? |

Pete,
Will the SS Handguard with the Vortex Sparc Topcover co-witness with the iron sights? |

No the vortex spark has the projector at the 6 o clock position preventing the use of the irons

Anybody else thinking about bolt-on G-10 panels similar to the KAC URXIII? It seem like the SS rail would be a good candidate for something like that. I don't even have one of these rails yet because I'm waiting on Rifle Dynamics to finish my build (long time to go). I may pick up the extended SS rail sooner rather than later and fabricate some G-10 panels for it as a small project. Any thoughts on this?
