Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - DIfference between Molot 40 rounders (RPK vs. RPK-74)?

I picked up what I thought to be a nice Bakelite Molot 7.62 RPK mag (40 rd),  but looking at the pictures, it might be an RPK-74 mag instead.

How do you tell the difference between the different Molot bakelites for the RPK?

The 45rd mags are longer, and the curve is more pronounced on the 40rd

The 5.45 mag has two slots cut at the top(one on each side)for the mag charger adapter.
