....as I live in CO (15 round is max capacity for magazines), even though I am a land owner in the neighboring state where they would be legal.  This isn't the first time I've seen this policy (Atlantic for one), but I have to question why?  It is perfectly legal to own them in the state being shipped to, and that is where they will stay (until laws change).  I don't get it.  BATFE ruling?

how do they know what state you are in if you give the address where you can own them?

He probably has to give the billing address on his CC.

This. They don't want the risk.

Have someone in the neighboring state buy them.

Correct.  I am also giving a shipping address to a state where it is legal to own, so I'm not sure what law would possibly be broken.

I will probably just buy them from a brick and mortar store in said state, when I'm on the way to our place.  There will be zero difference in net outcome.

The risk is mine, which happens to be zero.

The risk isn't entirely yours.

Maybe it's a policy to prevent some 'gotchya' news story that could get them in the headlines and damage the business as a whole.
If the place is doing thousands, or hundreds of thousands or millions in sales, can you see why for the profit on some mags may not be worth it?

I feel for your plight, but sounds like you have a plan to get the mags you can legally own anyway.
