I would just go with the SP as some "HP" they might have the small hole on top but they act like FMJ! I did see this with the overseas 223 "HP" they did not expand in the target just acted like FMJ. Now I have not tired 7.62x39 they MIGHT work as a HP.

Im pretty sure the Tula SP is 154 grain and the HP is 122-123 grain.
Velocity and recoil may change due to higher grain weight of the SP,something to think about before ordering. I would stick with the HP or FMJ in 122-123 grain |

I have no experience with the SP but have a little with the FMJ and HP. the HP does not expand and acts almost identical the the FMJ. Depending on what you're doing with it, I'd go cheaper.

Depends of which HP bullet they are using. The 124 grn "Effect" bullet is extremely effective - no question. Look it up.

I would lean more towards the SP. It would have a better chance of expanding than the HP. Unless I could get the 8m3 "effect" bullets.

The 154gr Tula load has been very accurate for me. Can't comment on the expansion because I've never shot anything with it, or shot it into ballistic gel.
If you can get the 8m3 bullet Tulammo, buy it. It's great stuff! |
