Just looking for input on Cerakote colors for the build i'm doing for my wife. It's a lightweight build with a 13.7" SLR helix rail and faxon 16" pencil. Mil spec lower and anderson upper with no FA or dust door. I am going to Cerakote the upper, lower, and handguard, and I don't want it to look like a ridiculous kids toy. I ended up spending more on this build than any other rifle I have, so I don't want to ruin it with a terrible cerakote color. She said purple or teal. I think purple is actually cool but I don't want a flat matte purple that Cerakote has. Any ideas on a custom mix? I was thinking 50/50 titanium and Bright purple for a dark metallic purple.

You say that you don't like the Cerakote shade of purple, but what does she think? You don't want it to look like a kids' toy, but does she think that's what it looks like?
If you prefer a different shade, get the purple and something to mix it with. Try a few small samples and
let her pick the one she likes. After all, who's gun is it going to be?
Trust me on this. Don't think of it as a gun that you will have to look at in your safe, think of it as if you are running a business and giving the customer what she wants. It is easier to look away from her less pleasantly appealing gun, than it is to live with her deep seated dislike of what you did to "her" gun, because you didn't like her color choice. You know all those old sayings, like "Happy wife, happy life" and "Hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned".
Personally, I would lean towards the teal, but that just happens to be close to one of the colors of my favorite sports teams. So, my personal preference doesn't sound like it would help you at all.
