short of material composition (polymer/aluminum) and "mil-spec" machining  is there a particular reason why I should be looking at the more costly lower receivers like the gen III noveske, or dpms/spikes versus something like anderson/FMK. What specifically separates them apart besides the cost and brand name? New to the whole "build it yourself" industry but I was just looking for some food-for-thought or threads on what the huge difference is between gen III's versus something lower end.

More attention to detail, and better QC, usually come along with higher end brands. Customer service is also better if you encounter any problems (LaRue is a good example here).

I'm only planning to build 2 AR's, so I'm buying quality parts. I bought a Noveske Gen III matched upper/lower set, Noveske NSR rail, and a LaRue stealth barrel to start my first build.

I buy Mega and I'm quite happy with their QC.
