OK, Arfcom, I stand ready to be judged...

Firstly, thanks to the collective knowledge of Arfcom, it has been a tremendous help.

I received my stamp today for my first SBR, which also happens to be the first rifle I have built from the ground up.

The build sheet reads thusly...

Stripped Upper / Lower receiver set : Aero Precision
Barrel : 14.5" Mid gas Aero precision 1:7 Nitride QPQ
BCG : Aero Precision NiB
Rail : BCM KMR 13"
Gas Block : BCM Lowpro
FH : A2
LPK : Palmetto kit (- FCG)
F/A and dustcover : Aero
Trigger guard : Magpul Enhanced
Trigger : Geissele S3G
Endplate : IWC QD
Safety : Battle Arms Ambi (w/ ambi side capped)
Bolt Catch / Mag Release : Seekins Precision
CH : BCM Gunfighter Mod 4
Receiver extension : BCM Milspec
Buffer : H2
BUIS : Troy Flip
Eotech XPS 2
Rail Covers : Midwest Industries
Stock : Magpul ACS-L
Grip : Magpul MOE
Sling : Magpul MS4 QD

Have a SF M300 to go on it, but still trying to decide on a mount.

Ok, pics...

Time to go get it dirty!!

Looks really nice add good pics too! Just curious why you went 14.5" on an SBR build when you can do a 14.5" pinned and not deal with NFA stuff?

Very nice though sir.

I was thinking the same thing.

OP, you could have saved yourself $200 and 6 months of time with a slightly longer pinned muzzle device?

A nice rifle none the less.

Thanks!

I mainly wanted to have my options open to go shorter at a later date if I wanted.

Then, I figured instead of just new uppers, why not whole guns, amirite?

I have a few more Form 1's pending now....

Dude, sharp looking gun!

That is a fine looking rifle you have there!
I am curious why the choice of the ambidextrous safety only to have the right side capped off.

Some of the other parts aren't my personal preference, but that isn't the question here. Quality wise, the only thing I haven't heard anything about are the Aero barrels.

Lastly, I don't know about ARFCOM, but on some of the other firearms group I'm in there has been a huge surge of "Hey check out my new EOTech" / Picture of rifle with an EOTech and people will flip out about how EOTech lied and cheated the government and is anti-American and how you shouldn't support them etc.

Thanks!

Zman,

I just like having the extended paddle of the Battle Arms safety, but I use my trigger finger to flip the safety, if I'm shooting offhand.

Aero has the barrels made by Ballistic Advantage. Very nice finish, and its definitely a shooter. (Im not gonna put glass on it, but even with a red dot, it will keep it around 1/2-3/4" at 50 yards)

As to the Eotech thing, I'm sure I'll catch flak for it, but whatever. This is not a new one, Ive had it for a while. I have used Eotech pretty extensively, both .mil and SWAT and I have never had a problem.

I have tried both back to back, and I'm significantly faster within 15 yds with the circle / dot , than with a plain dot.

If this one ever breaks, I'll buy something else, but until then, its fine. (Also why I have BUIS, lol)

Well done OP.

Love the colors.

Looks great OP. I am a HUGE fan of the simplistic KISS method of building a rifle, and yours fits that bill very well!

Enjoy it!

looks nice! IMO, 14.5" is the perfect barrel length.
