Where is the best place to get a stripped lower? I have not built a AR in years and I am thinking about building one for my wife.

FTF or online?

Online: Aim Surplus, Palmetto State, Primary Arms, JoeBob outfitters, AR15.com online store

Online, or FTF. I liked the anderson lowers when I was building them.

Quick answer is: cheapest place you can find one. (If we are talking about your average forged unit)

Aim surplus, Schuyler Arms, Palmetto State Armory, Anderson Manufacturing, Aero Precision would be some good places to check.

Not much difference in them really. The Aero G2 has an adjustable tension screw to remove any slop in the upper/lower fitment, pretty cool. Not the cheapest one though. That would probably be Anderson.

Aim has them for $40 with or without built in trigger guard. Some places run free shipping specials occasionally and I believe Aim was one of them.

Anderson will be the cheapest at $40 from quite a few different places.  Schuyler has Aero Gen2 lowers for $52 right now (normally $55).  I would personally go with the Aero but that is just my opinion.  The only reason I say that is because I have seen posts on occasion about people having slight issues with the fitment of the parts on Anderson lowers.  I like that the Aero Gen2 lowers have a flared magwell, the tension screw (although I have never used it) and the rear take down detent hole is threaded.

Aim Surplus.

I am local to them so that's 1 plus for me but they have great prices, even better CS, and they are just good guys to deal with.

Anderson is unbeatable at the $40 price point.  Try to find local it isn't worth a xfer fee....

All my builds have used either Aero Precision or Mega upper and lower forged receivers, with no regrets.  Both brands feature the little nylon-tipped screw to take up slack between the two receivers. Quality counts when it comes to milspec receivers and by all accounts they are not all equal.  Any out of tolerance condition in the trigger, hammer and safety holes will cause endless grief for the home builder. When the completed rifle ends up costing close to a thousand dollars, I can't see the benefit of chasing $10 or $20 on a less expensive receiver.  - CW
