hello all, can you  recommend a good barrel and a good bcg... im thinking a 16" barrel, mid length with 1/8 twist...willing to spend money for good parts.

1/8

I bought a mid length Faxon last weekend for $160.XX. Mine was the QPQ pencil 14.5 middy. I haven't built it up yet but it looks like good stuff. You should stick with a 1/7 and get a Daniel Defense barrel. Possibly the most accurate CHF barrels I've shot to date.

For BCG's the following are GTG: Daniel Defense, BCM, AIM Surplus, PSA premium.

You could wright a book on diffrent BCG's and barrels. I'm getting a jp enterprise full mass bcg to go with my noveske infidel barrel.

Bang for buck, green mountain has some great barrels with great accuracy.  Get a bcg from a known vendor with good customer service.

EDIT:  I agree with the list of bcg's above.  I used to not be a fan, but after a buddy started ordering AIM bcgs, including nitride, I decided I am a fan.  And AIM so far has good CS.

Nothing wrong with 1/8 for most purposes.

ETA: I'm curious.... You say your barrel is 1/7.  But Faxon's web page says it's 1/8

This ^^^

I don't own a KAK barrel but they get good reviews and for this price, it's hard to beat for the specs of the barrel.  They have a flat rate shipping of $6.50.  You could get a 16in melonited barrel for $116.50 shipped.  These barrels are made from Green Mountain blanks.

As already mentioned for BCG's; PSA premium, AIM and Toolcraft for low cost and high quality.

Definitely Green Mountain for the best value and quality in what you're looking for, get the 16" mid-length with 1:8 rifling...excellent shooters.

A standard mil-spec BCG (C158) will serve you well, no need to go too exotic.

I didn't say my Faxon was 1/7. OP asked for 1/8, I gave a 1/8 recommendation. IF OP decided to go with 1/7 I recommend he looks at a Daniel Defense middy.
