Hey all,

Just gonna use this space as my build journal for my first and future builds. Some background: I bought a Spike's Tactical ST-15 from a member of a local gun forum for $700. I barely had it 24 days and I sold it for $800 and started my quest for quality parts and manufacturers alike to start a build. I ended up having to decide between Noveske and Mega. It was easy, because Noveske was out of stock AND I didn't like their roll mark over Mega's. Problem solved. Here's a parts list of what's coming in the mail. Once I get the parts in I'll be uploading pictures, pre-build, mid-build and post-build. I think I'm only missing a forward assist and a barrel, but I've been taking my time ordering each part and I'll inventory them when they come in. For now, let me know what you think! Or if you have a similar build in mind or already own one! Barrel recommendations are definitely welcome before I snap order a Daniel Defense S2W W/ gas block, lol.

AIM shipped my Geissele trigger via surepost, which for an impatient man like myself, is the absolute worst way to ship ANYTHING! Says it's not coming until Wednesday. That's ridiculous :/

I pick up the upper and lower today and have everything else but my trigger. Pics coming tonight. I may return the trigger and just buy an SSA but I don't want to wait another 6 months for it to get here. AIM is less than an hour away from me. Contemplating ordering the SSA and going to pick it up.

Borderline freakout mode: Apparently, Mega uses a proprietary screw for the bolt catch because I have purchased TWO sets of allen keys and none of them fit. 1.5mm is too small and apparently I have nothing in between. Tired of driving to the store. Why isn't there documentation or an included allen wrench if you're going to use a size that's so oddball and not included in your basic sets? Jesus H Christ.

Edit: OK. Apparently if you use the 1.5MM and pull toward you it will catch and loosen up, but I'm worried about stripping it. Maybe the tool isn't to spec or something? 1.5 is too small and 2 is too big. Got it out though.

I feel the same way about the magpul trigger guard. 1.5 just strips out and is annoying as hell

Just completed the next round of the order after inventory of all the parts and partial assembly of the lower. While I was working on the lower, my lovely wife came in and dry fired my Geissele trigger into my upper-less lower. Divorce preceedings will begin shortly.

Edit: Think I should've got an H2 Buffer with this setup. Instead of spending the money, I'm going to assemble with the H and see what happens when I take it on the first shoot.

Welp, got everything together and went over to a friends house to finish the install to find that the Geissele rails do not fit "some" billet receivers. I'm furious! Scratched the shit out of my barrel trying to unpin it and now I'll probably have a fight trying to get it returned as no where does it state on the website I purchased it from or Mega that this rail won't fit a billet receiver. Waste of time. I'll probably get hit with some bullshit restocking fee.
