These are definitely frankenstein guns...
Lowers: Aeroprecision
Upper: Anderson Manufacturing
Barrel: Daytona Tactical
Everything went together but I do have a warning- The lower parts kit was Anderson Manufacturing and I cannot recommend them-
1) The parts were noticeably more whimpy than the kit I used on my first build. The parts are noticeably lighter weight and the springs are WHIMPY. The trigger also has a rough feel. In their defense, they were cheap and they did work.
2) THE BIG WARNING: The indents drilled into the pivot pin are too large so instead of the take-down pin detent just sitting in the indents, they go into the holes and gets stuck. I had to hammer out the pivot pin and destroy the pin detent to get it apart. LUCKILY, I didn't destroy the lower.
***CHECK YOUR PIN DETENT HOLES BEFORE USING ANDERSON LOWER KITS.***
The only other headache was the Magpul hand guards and the delta ring- I really had to fight to get them on because they fit TIGHT and the delta ring just fought me the whole way.
Other than that, my only (minor) complaint is that the finish on the lowers is slightly different then the uppers (the upper is slightly more flat than the slightly more glossy lowers) so, it annoys me. But, I built these for under $600 each so, I'm not going to sweat it too much.
As for the barrels - I haven't shot them yet but they seem to be good quality. Before I bought them I saw this thread (http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_12/653776_Daytona_Tactical_reviews_.html) and it made me nervous but, I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have any troubles but the people at the company are not very good at communicating on the telephone.
To the observant - Yes, the muzzle brakes are not on straight, I had to run out and get crush washers that I did not have when I took the picture.
EDIT: I don't know why my image isn't showing up on the page... Any ideas?
