These are definitely frankenstein guns...

Lowers: Aeroprecision
Upper: Anderson Manufacturing
Barrel: Daytona Tactical

Everything went together but I do have a warning-  The lower parts kit was Anderson Manufacturing and I cannot recommend them-

1) The parts were noticeably more whimpy than the kit I used on my first build.  The parts are noticeably lighter weight and the springs are WHIMPY.  The trigger also has a rough feel. In their defense, they were cheap and they did work.

2) THE BIG WARNING: The indents drilled into the pivot pin are too large so instead of the take-down pin detent just sitting in the indents, they go into the holes and gets stuck.  I had to hammer out the pivot pin and destroy the pin detent to get it apart. LUCKILY, I didn't destroy the lower.

***CHECK YOUR PIN DETENT HOLES BEFORE USING ANDERSON LOWER KITS.***

The only other headache was the Magpul hand guards and the delta ring- I really had to fight to get them on because they fit TIGHT and the delta ring just fought me the whole way.

Other than that, my only (minor) complaint is that the finish on the lowers is slightly different then the uppers (the upper is slightly more flat than the slightly more glossy lowers) so, it annoys me.  But, I built these for under $600 each so, I'm not going to sweat it too much.

As for the barrels - I haven't shot them yet but they seem to be good quality.  Before I bought them I saw this thread (http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_12/653776_Daytona_Tactical_reviews_.html) and it made me nervous but, I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have any troubles but the people at the company are not very good at communicating on the telephone.

To the observant - Yes, the muzzle brakes are not on straight, I had to run out and get crush washers that I did not have when I took the picture.

EDIT: I don't know why my image isn't showing up on the page...  Any ideas?

What sights do you plan to use?

Well, I put the 'rail-height' gas block on so I could put iron-sights on but, I really want to put a red-dot on at least one.  My first build got a scope.

Did you have interference issues with that gas block and the hand guard?  I know with the MOE-SL I had to remove material to get it to fit which made getting the hand guard on a bear.

Very sharp.  I like the look of that gas block/handguard combination.

I've used Anderson LPKs on a couple builds...they aren't the best, but I haven't run into the issues you describe.  My only complaint is that the trigger pull is VERY heavy, but I just swap out the hammer spring.  I use them because I like the texture and width of the trigger finger surface.

Why exact duplicates?

Maybe it's just me, but I see little point in building identical rifles unless it's a "his & hers" or "for the kids" kind of thing.  Matched handgun pairs or investment guns aside, I find variety is the spice of life!

Nice!

Only problems I have run into with Anderson is the barrel interface on the upper. Demensionaly everything was gtg, but the QC dropped the ball when it came back from anno. I couldn't get past 30ftlbs without lapping the upper.....sort of annoying, but it gave me an excuse to get a new tool! Lol

"Did you have interference issues with that gas block and the hand guard?" - No, the gas-block ring keeps keeps it far enough back but, because the delta ring was so tight they were a BEAR to get on.

"I've used Anderson LPKs on a couple builds...they aren't the best, but I haven't run into the issues you describe. My only complaint is that the trigger pull is VERY heavy, but I just swap out the hammer spring."  - The trigger just feels sloppy and rough.  Next time I will use a more expensive kit.  That being said, I had NO PROBLEMS with the Anderson uppers I used.

"...but I haven't run into the issues you describe." - That was the worst!  I put the pivot pin in place and no slidie. I kept pushing on it and nothing.  Got out a punch and hammer and tapped it nothing. I couldn't do anything else so I wailed on it and it finally came free after destroying the indent pin.  I took the other indent pin and dropped it in the indent and it went into the hole like a little locking pin.  I was cursing Anderson and praying not to destroy the lower with every hit.  I'm not risking that again...

"Why exact duplicates?" - One for each hand of course, duh.

"Only problems I have run into with Anderson is the barrel interface on the upper. Dimensionally everything was gtg, but the QC dropped the ball when it came back from anno. I couldn't get past 30ftlbs without lapping the upper." - Didn't have any problems with the upper. (other than my eyesight must be crooked when it comes to lining up everything for the gas-tube...)
