Does anyone make some kind of A2 grip to rail adapter?  That's cheaper than a cheap VFG?  That might be something...

I have a limit method if I can't fit it in the safe nothing gets built. And yes I have bought a bigger safe already.

Im refusing to fall into that trap..I just cant bring myself to buy a lower parts kit with some garbage in it I dont want so im using a place that lets you mix and match so when I get my LPK it will actually contain EVERYTHING I want nothing I dont...and since I will have just 1 AR(no chance to need 2..just no $$ for that) I wont have to worry about more than 1 build :) .

Im pretty much the exception to that rule as ive been told the same things several times on various guns,,,I have 1 M1 Garand(got told you cant resist more never got a slight inkling to get another), 1 AK 74 (and no need for another) , same deal here....I just dont have that kind of disposable income to have multiples of 1 gun :) . even if I did im just not into it...same deal with things like magazines...im one of those guys that would be 100% fine with having like 5-6 mags...never needed more I just dont have the use for more..then you have guys that have 100+ of them and think its not enough....:)

There are so many more options when it comes to setups on an ar. You can have 5 different rifles. Each with their own purpose and completely different appearance and capabilities all based on the ar platform. I can't think of any other rifle that has so many capabilities. That's why I said you can't stop at one. They aren't like the garand, ak, etc.

Now that is damn funny

I saw a video a while back where someone stuffed dog treats in one and give it to their dog for a chew toy.

Cut 'em down.

Grind on 'em.

Cover them in heat shrink.

Dip them in liquid rubber.

Add moldable epoxy to 'em.

Practice your machining skills.

The possibilities are endless.

Just don't throw them away...

This is the build-it-yourself forum right?

Why not actually make something you might otherwise buy or even

something that isn't currently made to your taste.

I made a stubby, stippled grip that is lighter than anything I can buy from any

of the vendors on here starting with a 'lowly' A2 PG.

Don't want 'em send them to me.

Send them my way. I like the A2 grip. Have tried some, others and don't really see spending the money. I guess to each his own.

I do like the Magpul grips but for now all my builds will have A2s.

Either save them for if you decide to sell some guns off since you rarely get any extra money from the "add ons" or you can try to trade them off to a small local dealer for a credit on something else.

i will take any that people dont want

I have A2's on almost all my rifles and am building a few more that need grips
sometimes i will file off the finger bump and they fit my hands just fine.

I am also planning on making a retro style air force survival rifle with a cut down grip and cant see myself doing it to an A1 style

Sorry, but anyone buying from CTD deserves the surcharge.

They'll probably tell you it has to ship from 3 different locations and you have to pay a shipping charge for each one.

I saw one that was modified to look like an A1 grip, not an exact but close enough.

I plan on cutting off the center finger bump with a band saw, dress it up with a small grinder, smooth it out sanded area with a hand torch (it will smooth out with the heat), drill some dimples in the bottom.

That way I can use my A1 grips on the A1 carbines and rifles and use these on the ones I build out of misc. parts.

I went thru 5 different grips from BCM to MagPul and came back to the A2.     I was A2 when A2 wasn't cool.
