80 views and no replies. Is it really impossible? Maybe I should be looking for a clamp on front sight instead?

Did you contact Adco, or is that just the info from their site? I've heard others before that have contacted them and they were able to do it after all. Again, not first hand experience.

Check with Rainier Arms, if they won't do it then you're probably looking at a clamp-on.
