Just built my second lower in 20 minutes, and not one spring shot across the room not one part went flying, unlike my first built which took a week because I had to order parts that shot across the yard, I build outdoors under my carport.
This build is a core 15 lower on a BCM upper for my oldest son for Christmas, I gave my youngest son a 4" 357 revolver he wanted planing my third build for the spring.
What have you guys done to me? I'm addicted is there a cure?

No there is no cure in fact it only gets worse. Wait until you decide 223 is not enough and you want a 9mm or 308.

Yes, it gets easier, and actually more fun every time.  It's a combination of experience and lower frustration that does this.

I recommend building indoors, seated, and on a non-carpeted floor.  I can't remember the last time I had a spring-loaded something get away from me, but I'm still prepared for it.  Some people recommend putting the lower in a large freezer bag when installing "launch-capable" parts, but I got past that part of the learning curve before I heard of this technique.

And yes, it's not only easier, it's even more habit-forming.  It's a terminal disease with a prognosis for more spending and eventual need for a larger (or another) gun safe.  There's no hope.  At least you have a support group here!
