I have several (BHW), BHW is definitely good to go, If you reload you may like the 6.5mm PCC round for the AR-15 platform and It uses
the .223 Remington/5.56mm NATO parent case which makes things simple and cost effective...

Good Luck.

6.5 ballistics are better for punching paper and targets for long range, has been slightly expensive to shoot.  Had known bolt issues.  Mostly resolved.  Overall pricing coming down.  Getting easier to find parts and ammo.

6.8 just as effective at killing deer at realistic ranges.  Cheaper to shoot.  Doesn't have the paper punching extreme range target ability.  Cheaper to build and parts in the past more readily available.  Early versions had chamber design issues, thanks to Remington.  Now fixed.

Both excellent choices for hunting at realistic ethical ranges.

EDIT:  realizing I responded to a question that probably wasn't there as I interpretted it.  Oh well

The 6.5mm PCC and .277 Wolverine cartridges solve the parts (bolts) and magazine Issues as well as the high cost of brass Issues, while
still giving one very good ballistic performance from the .223 Remington/5.56mm NATO parent case, which is cheap and plentiful...

Both the 6.5mm & 6.8mm projectiles are very accurate with today's modern manufacturing process and quality control, etc. The 6.5mm
does have a edge at range, but since most hunters/shooter keep shots within 300 yards or so, and that pretty much levels the playing field
and both are pretty much equal in most respects...

Yeah, the 6.5 x 6.8 (6.8mm SPC necked down to 6.5mm) is a Interesting wildcat round and does have some merit since it uses slightly less
expensive brass and a "stronger" bolt (or at least able to safely run at slightly pressures with less bolt thrust according to the "experts").

Although, Mike Milli at DTI had originally designed a version of this round with a Improved 30 degree shoulder with some other Improve-
ments via the 6.5mm DTI cartridge before anyone else that comes to mind, and he is a very well respected wildcatter and smith...

Just another option to have that is cost effective, especially if you reload, which many shooters now do...

Good luck.

will a .264 LBC chamber run 6.5 grendels.. aren't they practically the same round?

Yes, because of copyright issues slight changes were made to not be infringing. Mine is a 6.5 SAOD chamber. My buddies is a true 6.5 Grendel from Alexander arms and we have interchanged ammo that I loaded and he loaded while out shooting.

I bought a Black hole barrel in. 264lbc with my intentions of using grendel ammo. It is just copyrights/marketing for the most part there is a physical difference but none to be concerned with

so what is the actual physical difference between the rounds?

There are drawings that illustrate the difference. Will see if I can find them
