Does your barrel fit, and what does it look like installed?

The barrel fits good the lip is between the feed ramps facing the mag I was thinking it would cause feed issues

It looks like it physically sticks out. If it sticks out, yes, it will cause feeding issues.
If it is yours, no taking it back, files that bitch smooth.

Yes it does that's why I'm asking everyone if enough people agree it might cause problems in the dealer won't Exchange it I'm going to put them on blast but I will give them one more chance

It's just like the spartan billet that Joe bobs is selling for 110. They are a new dealer I probably will file it down I'm just pissed out they said "that is normal" that's all I got back in a reply email. I might just sell the upper in lower because it has their name on it in start over

I would just file it down and call it a day. It's on the inside so who cares?

I guess it depends on what you paid for it. Some times cheap parts are cheaply made. If you were under the impression that it was top quality and paid for it as such I'd not be happy either.

No that is not normal.  And if said co. said it is normal then I would not be doing business with them anymore and would think very hard if I would want to keep there lower and upper as they both could be out of spec in places.  If they wont take the upper back  ie swap it for another then file that lip down and touch it up with aluma black if you want to cover up the filed area.

Or you could always ban saw it like that guy did to his spikes lower.

I just looked at three uppers from Aero Precision and none looked like yours.  I'd say it is a serious flaw being where it's at, but I'm sure no expert.

It looks to me like  the part slipped or was misplaced in the fixture (probably during a roughing operation)  and the mill took a pass that was a little too deep.    The lip doesn't looked to be raised as much as the face looks undercut when compared to the feed ramp cuts.

If you can return it or exchange it, I probably would, however, being a dealer transfer type part, that may be easier said than done.   I would see what it looked like with a mag installed.   Based on the position of the feed ramp cuts, I would guess the bullet tips in the installed mag are above the lip in question and won't be an issue at all.   I'd check that before taking a file to it and breaking through the anodizing.   If the bullet tips are at or below the lip, then you will have to smooth it out if you cant exchange it..

That's what I see also, but I'm no expert...  Also, being below the feed ramps, it appears to be out of the way.

Quick shot that kind of shows everything is above the "problem":

That said, it should not be like that.  In my opinion (not worth much) at best it is a blem.  But, based on above, it looks like it won't be a function issue if you are stuck with it.

I don't see it causing feed issues.  If your bullet tips are hitting that low, you have much bigger issues.

Consider that most rifles would run just fine without even having M4 feed ramps in the upper. Those were only added because of the higher cycle rates occasionally outrunning worn out mag springs.

If it's a billet part for only $110, then I wouldn't even bother blasting the manufacturer.   He's got to be close to selling parts at cost.
Build it and forget it.   If it was a $350 show piece, then thats a different story.

You really can't gripe about your Ford not being as pretty as a new Mercedes if you paid Ford money.

It's the fact that they said its normal that gets me they didn't really try to explain or work with me

In I would drive a Ford any day over a Mercedes

I would disagree with that logic.

The OP bought the piece on the premise that it was usable and without flaws, no matter what the price.  At least that is how I look at parts I buy.

Now if the OP bought it as a blem, well then I'd say he got what he paid for.

IMO the manufacturer should not be blasted until, and if the OP can't get it exchanged for a different receiver, or resolved in a matter that satisfies the OP.

My 2 cents, YMMV.

It's a fair point.
Although I guess the arguement could be made about what constitutes a "flaw"   If it doesn't affect form, fit or function, then is it technically "out of print" and then flawed?
If it affect reliable feeding and safe operation, then absolutely, it's not right and should be corrected, regardless of the price.   You didn't get what you paid for.    Beyond that....

And I wasn't digging on Fords....My own truck would divorce me if I did that.
