Should I just not be cheap and build a new lower? What are your thoughts and give me an idea of what can be done. I wouldn't use that lower for an SBR build. There is no resale value of a lower with your personal/trust information engraved on the side. You can pick up quality lowers for $50-$100 that would make perfect SBRs. The Colt needs to say unmolested. |

2. Register new lower as sbr 3. Sell Colt lower 4. Profit |

Thanks for the advice guys. I just goes to show how naive I am about ARs. I am probably opening up a can of worms but can I get some advice on a quality lower? I figure I buy that fill out the forms pay my $200 have the lower engraved with my info then figure out the parts for the build later.

Generally a lower is a lower find one with a roll mark you like, or go with a PSA stealth lower if you dislike roll marks. If the colt doesn't have any an personal value I would look at selling it to someone behind enemy lines in a communists state. |
