First time poster here looking for some insight and ideas for my first AR15 build.

Let me say I am new to gun building and this will be my first of what I hope will be many more to come.

My step dad has decided to gift me and my brothers with a stripped lower from PSA link. I am trying to create a parts list because I cannot afford to build the entire gun now but will be buying parts when I can afford them or if people wish to purchase them for me.

As far as what i want in general i am really liking the all black with stainless barrel look. This will be primaraly a shoot for fun gun/target practice until we move in the next few years and can maybe start hunting again.

As of right now I have the lower figured out with the following.

•Parts Kit Link
•Buffer Kit link
•H2 Buffer link
•Stock link

I chose the H2 buffer because my fiancee loves shooting and i also have a son that will likley learn to shoot with this rifle, i feel the H2 should help with the recoil and will likley be worth the money.

The only other thing i would like is an ambidextrous safety as well as walk out pins. I would also like to replace the trigger with something a little lighter maybe 3-4lbs but i dont want to spend $200 on a new trigger until i try the heavier one.

As far as the upper i am still really undecided and a even a tad lost when looking.

I will likely stick with a PSA upper receiver but everything else is still fair game.

As i mentioned i would like a stainless barrel 16-18" would be reasonable (i like the 16" better)

Then we get to the gas system and BCC which i dont have a clue about either. I know the nickle boron are probably the best but is it worth it?

Also i really like the free float DD Omega rails.

As far as optics i will likely stick with iron sights until i can afford something better. I do plan on purchasing some flip up sights as well.

Any insight on the parts i have already selected or parts you think would be better for my purpose than please let me know. Also any insight on upper parts would be much appreciated.

(EDIT) Nevermind, I noticed that you wanted the CTK not the MOE stock, and for some reason I had the parts kit price in mind when looking at your buffer tube.
You will need a wrench for the stock though. This is what I have. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002E6X44C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's cheap but it works. The new ones even come with a "beer wrench".
For the upper, if you're looking to buy in stages go with these guys: http://www.radicalfirearms.com/product-p/rfupperv1.1.16s.htm They're local here in Houston and good guys. The $279 is for the upper, handguard, barrel, and A2 flash hider. You can go to the dropdown boxes and say no to remove the other parts. Then you just buy them later. You can buy them from Radical for the same price as in the dropdown boxes. They also have a similar model with a freefloat quad rail handguard. Doing it this way, the "hard" part of barrel timing and such is done already. The bolt and charging handle just slide right in at this point.
