Well,  I've been shooting the heck outta this thing...
https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=633342

Since then I have added a magpul grip,  and trigger guard to get rid of my finger rubbing  raw.... And I just picked up an eotech for a good price. Now I have a dilemma..
I want to modernize it more!

I have two plans of action,  low profile gas block,  with a 15" floating rail...

Or get a railed gas block and get a carbine size floating guard.

Decisions decisions.

On a side note... This  AR has caused me to buy an interceptor vest, with soft armor,  and Esapi plates..a pasgt vest with pasgt helmet, as well as an FLC to carry the 8 pmags/Lancer mags I have so far..

Railed gas blocks are heavy.  Go with the lp gas block and ff rail...

Alg makes a great and cheap light weight rail. And the Geissele gas blocks are easy. Aim surplus has a geissele  one for $39. I just used the stainless version which is a little more.

Great story on the trade!

I'm not too worried much about weight... Considering any real mods I do to this,  still won't be as heavy as all of my old school bolt rifles,  and m1 garand. Lol.

I love the look of the hidden barrel under the FF handguard. ALG doesn't have the full 15" that I was looking for... And $145 is creeping up there. ;)

Here it is right now. Oh. Forgot to mention I installed a compensator from Amazon. It has fantastic reviews,  and I know why.  It works great!

Saturday I'm picking up a BUIS for the rear for $60 from a friend.
It's this  one.

Could have saved some money by sanding down the seam on the A2 grip you had. I like the A2 grip and had to do the same thing on my Stag Arms.

The gap between the trigger guard and grip is what was doing it. So I needed the magpul guard to fill in the space.

I suggest you upgrade everything you can. That way in a few months you can look into your scrap bin and be like "holy shit! With just one or two more parts I can build another whole rifle!"

I.... Like that suggestion... I have another lower..I bought before the first rifle scare before Obama... And I have yet to do anything with it. I see a pistol build in my future on that one.

That's what I do. Every stripped lower I have ever bought was built as a pistol first.
