I have the UTG Pro Super Slim on my M&P 15-22 rifle and it's fine on that application. No issues, and surprisingly decent rail.
But I would definitely spend the extra $10-15 on an ALG EMR. Those are fantastic rails at great prices. I love the ALG stuff. |

I was looking at both the EMR and UTG Pro. I decided on the UTG pro because of continuous top rail. That was the deciding factor for me.
I now have several UTG Pro's and couldn't be happier. I have two of the 9", two 13" and two 15" UTG pro slim handguards. They are damn good. UTG/Leapers has stepped up their game with their pro line. Now I do run ALG triggers in my rifles. |

UTG Pro Slims are surprisingly good. UTG really did do an outstanding job on this. Even their Pro Quad rails are nice (although the Carbine pissed me off b/c I had to grind away for the low profile block b/c for some reason the 9" and longer are different somehow). WIll I settle soley on the UTG? No. Some sites over charge for them. Other sites I have found I can get a 9" for under $100, maybe even under $90 depending on the day. I can get a 13" for under $100 as well. If a budget matters, go for it. You will not be sorry. The ease of installation is awesome. Hands down one of the easiest.

My only problem I had with either of the handguards is they are designed to fit standard upper receivers and I wanted to use a DPMS Lo-Pro for a build and it's fat. The UTG slim pro has these neat anti-rotation tabs on either side of the handguard that slip over the sides of the upper receiver which would definitely not work/fit on the Lo-Pro receiver. I noticed there are little tabs on the ALG defense EMR handguard that probably do the same thing but they sure look like they would be easy to remove for one of the two Lo-Pro's I still have.
