Anyone know anything about this site?  I was wondering about the quality. I can't argue with the price.

People who have bought the barrels seem happy enough with them. I would have bought one of the 1:8 twist ones but they were out of stock for a long time. I ended up getting an Anderson Manufacturing barrel when they had their Fathers Day sale since it was 15% discount with free shipping.

Look at green Mountain. Great barrels and great prices. They make allot of barrels for the "big name" brands.

I bought 3 when they were $70.  All looked good but have only built one out and had no problems with assembly.  Have not shot it yet due to other problems in life.

red barn has similar ones on sale for $80 with the gas tube and free ship if you have over $99 in stuff: http://www.redbarnarmory.com/RBA-16-M4-1-9-p/rba16m419.htm

They have the melonite coating so they have a bit of a shine to them where the Classic is a dark phosphate.

I would not buy them based on the misleading 4140 rated at 150,000 rounds, and their over justification of no chrome lining.  Maybe a good barrel, I stay away from vendors with red flags like this.

Cheap barrels are just that CHEAP BARRELS.  It is possible to get a deal but for just a little more money you can get something a bit more known.

The barrels are good enough if you have extra parts laying around.  But if you are buying componets to add on the barrel  i'd rather wait till PSA has a sale on chf barred uppers.

So.....please explain to me the problem you are having with non-chrome lined barrels.

OK, I will.  Maybe I worded poorly but I clearly state they rate the barrel for 150,000 rounds.  Do you think any barrel is rated for 150K?  Chrome lined, non chrome lined, 4140, 4150, 4150cmv?   They are over justifying.  They call this barrel very top end??  The fact is most barrels these days are either Stainless, chrome lined, or nitrided.  There are very few non chrome lined barrels on the market comparatively.  So my problem is with their ad. It was stated as such in the context.  I am not nor was I ever looking for a non chrome lined fight.   Sounds like you might be not sure.  Read the context of the ad and how they build the barrel up and you will find it is not a top end barrel based on construction methods, not to mention price. But they may be good barrels, just hard to know based on lack of evidence and lack of reputation.  So no pissing contest here, hopefully I have answered your question to your satisfaction, although it was not owed in any way as the answer was built into the context.

I couldn't afford a top end barrel - even an extra $50 would have been a stretch. So, I have a 1:8 twist Anderson Manufacturing phosphate coated barrel for my rifle. Came in at just under $100 which was all I had to spend for the barrel and it was the last part I needed. Granted, it may only last between 5,000 and 10,000 rounds. But, since I don't have a lot to spend in ammo either, at 500 rounds a year that's at least 10 years. Ideally, if you can afford a little extra, get a melonite or nitride barrel. You can find them for around $140 and a little less on sale. JSE Surplus often has them. Check CBC Industries also. If I were going to build another 5.56 I'd hold out for a nitride or melonite coated barrel. I'll likely do that with the 7.62 pistol I've started. If I don't find a 8" melonite/nitride barrel then I'll get a 7.5" one.
